I clenched my jaw before placing my fork back on the table. I sighed before commenting

"I don't understand your obsession with ruining my breakfast."

James's smirk only widened before he shrugged and answered tauntingly

"Well, let's say I enjoyed seeing you riled up."

That son of a....

My curse was died because of the comforting hand of Ms. Jill on my shoulder. I instantly calmed myself down before asking him

"What do you want, now?"

He scoffed before muttering

"Well, now we have come to the point."

I rolled my eyes. This man is only wasting my time. My head turned to him when he started to speak

"I wanted to ask about the project with Zachary Saint."

My jaw immediately clenched at his name. The way he behaved with Anastasia that day played in my mind.

"Are you asking about the corrupt, unprofessional and dirty Zachary Saint?"

I couldn't help but mock. James stance went rigid. He narrowed his eyes at me before going all defensive

"Well, we all tend to do anything to survive in this cruel world. At least he's earning money."

I felt sick to hear his mentality. I can't believe my father and he shared the same blood. He's not at all like my father. Sure, he was not a saint himself but at least he tried to save himself from the corrupted world. James on the other hand, is a total lost cause.

"I can see why my father and grand father never deemed you worthy enough to handle the company."

At my insulting comment, he immediately barked in anger

"Keep your tone in check, Aaron. You're crossing your limit."

I scoffed before standing up. I buttoned up my coat and said

"Oh, am I?"

I rolled my eyes before leaving my seat. I walked towards the exit but before that I turned around and faced him. I warned him keeping my voice hard and deadly cold

"I may be working with him because of your stupidity but if I find him playing dirty with me even a little bit, I will not hesitate in terminating the contract with him. Consequences be damned. He will face the outcome of messing with me."

I left after that..

As I parked my car on the designated parking spot, my phone went off. I attended it when I saw the name of Christian flashing onto the screen.

"Hey, what's up?"

He replied back monotone

"Just a busy working day, what else. I called to ask about the project with Mitchell's?"

I sighed before telling him everything.

"Well, he's one darn calculative person. Good luck to work with him."

I chuckled before questioning him

"You tell, everything alright with your 'fiancee'?"

He cursed before warning me

"Don't test my patience, Aaron. You out of everyone know about everything."

I chuckled before ending the call

"Talk to you on the chess night."

I stepped out of the car and entered inside the building. The staff greeted me and I replied them back with a polite smile. As I entered the lift, few employees also entered inside. I waited before I reach my floor and stepped out.

Donna immediately rushed to me and informed me

"Sir, all the arrangements for the meeting has been done. You just need to commence the meeting."

I nodded my head and as we passed the desk of Anastasia, she was absent. I furrowed my eyebrows before asking Donna

"Ana didn't come?"

She looked at the desk before she answered

"No, she had already arrived. Maybe went out."

I nodded my head before making my way to my cabin. I entered inside and take the files of the project with me. Today's meeting sole mission was to prepare my employees for the project. In two weeks, Mr. Mitchell will be announcing his project to us. We need to show him our best.

I walked to the meeting hall but I heard voices so I stopped my movements and listened to the conversation

"But why can't I join the meeting too? I'm also working as an employee here."

Anastasia's frustrated voice reached my ears. An amused smile spread on my lips. Her nature will never change. I saw Donna trying to understand her

"Ms. Richmond, sir had asked you not to join the meeting."

She scoffed before mumbling

"Your sir had gone nuts. Tell him not to be an idiot and let me join the meeting. In fact, I don't need his permission. I'll attend it by myself."

I made myself visible infront of her. But she hasn't noticed me yet. I mused standing right behind her

"Are you sure about that?"

She gasped before turning around. She crossed her arms around my chest and stated

"Care to tell me why can't I join the meeting?"

I exhaled before speaking

"I don't think your presence is necessary in this one."

She looked only a second to explode. I hit her buttons. She calmed before speaking

"And why do you think that?"

She batted her eyelashes at me. I hummed before turning to Donna and said

"Donna, you can go inside."

She nodded her head before entering inside. I then turned to Anastasia. She was glaring in my direction. I pocketed my hands and told her

"Look, ana. You might be working with me but there are things you shouldn't know about."

She insisted

"And will you tell me what 'things'?"

I spoke right after

"I'd rather not say it. Now, don't create a scene here. We had a deal that you'll be following my rules. If you don't follow them than you can happily show yourself out."

I got the last word and left her in the hall fuming and practically shaking with rage. I sighed before entering in the meeting hall. The employees were already seated and when they saw me, they all greeted in unison.

I stood at the very centre and faced everyone. I spoke with my voice held high and professional

"Thank you all for gathering here on such a short notice."

Everyone smiled before I continued

"As you all know, Mr. Mitchell will be announcing the project he'll give to us in a week. I want each and everyone of you to work hard and prepare such a presentation which he can't deny at any cost."

Everyone nodded their heads. I motioned the crew before he flashed the first slide on the projector beside me. I clapped my hands before speaking

"Let's start, shall we?"
