Prologue

Nature's Elements. That's all the world seems to have cared about for the past few centuries. The Elements are responsible for creating the world countless have been born into, but some people believe that there's more. More to the Elements. More to the way of live. More to everything.

I'm Rune, princess of Elementa. Yeah, I did just roll my eyes during the introduction. Its not that I don't like you -- because you radiate a vibe of adventure, and I crave adventure -- but that I don't like being so formal. But my father, King Xygen -- who also refuses to rename the kingdom because, seriously, Elementa as the capital for all Elementals is just the opposite of creative -- insists I learn how to be formal with new peeps. I'm 98% sure that his mind is still living back when Elementals were still being accepts into the ways humans live while his body is in the 21st Century.

Anyway, I'm sure you have a lot of questions, so I guess I'll have to answer them.

Question 1 : Who are the rulers of Elementa? The answer to this is my own parents, King Xygen -- an Air Elemental -- and Queen Aquaria -- a Water Elemental. I'm their daughter and crown princess, a Magic Elemental.

Question 2 : How can an Air Elemental and a Water Elemental have a Magic Elemental as a daughter? Basically most of the Elementals in Elementa are descended from the Original Elementals that roamed the Earth. The Elementals at that time were Scalador the Fire Elemental, Neptune the Water Elemental, Clay the Earth Elemental, Gale the Air Elemental, Malov the Shadow Elemental, Auris the Light Elemental, Mors the Death Elemental, Exos the Magic Elemental, and Elan the Life Elemental. Regardless of which Elementals get together, its impossible to tell which Element their offspring will possess.

Question 3 : How did Elementals come to be accepted into the lives of humans? They actually came to an agreement a few centuries ago. The leader of the Elementals, a Light Elemental called Fax, and a leader of all humans in the country -- which was the United States of America, by the way -- signed a treaty. Basically, its the Elementals agreeing that they won't use their abilities to harm any innocent humans or alter anything that would cause an unnatural occurrence while the humans agreed to not accuse any of the Elementals of anything without physical evidence or anything that falls into that same category.

Question 4 : Is there a limit on how many Elementals can exist in one sitting? Well, no. But we try to keep the Elemental population relatively controlled -- though some thing that Elementals now occupy about 25% of the entire humanoid population on the planet.

Question 5 : How can there be rulers of something that covers about 25% of the humanoid population? Well, Elementa is a place made entirely for Elementals so the Originals naturally wanted someone to rule the land. At first, they picked Fax and his wife, a Death Elemental -- her name is unknown. Since then, the bloodline of Fax has been that of Royal Elementals. Since the Elementals don't have a definite lifespan, whenever the heir of the royals marries, the former king or queen steps down to allow room for a new ruler. The former rulers can still live in the castle if they wish, but mostly once they step down, they live in a cottage in Elementa Village.

Question 6 : What kind of powers does an Elemental possess? Well, the answer to that one solely depends on the Elemental you're referring to. Fire Elementals : pyrokinesis -- fire manipulation. Water Elementals : hydrokinesis -- water manipulation. Earth Elementals : geomancy -- earth manipulation. Air Elementals : areokinesis -- air manipulation. Shadow Elementals : umbrakinesis -- shadow manipulation. Light Elementals : photokinesis -- light-manipulation. Death Elementals : death manipulation. Life Elementals : life-manipulation. And Magic Elementals : sorcery.
