three. a simple lie

as viviana got home, she stayed in her room in front of the TV binge watching the vampire diaries until her phone rang

as she looked at it, she noticed it was belly “hey betty” viviana said, her smile practically heard through the phone

“hey ― what's with the good mood? ” lilith said awkwardly

“maybe I am just happy today?” viviana said but it came out as a question

“are you drunk?” lilith asked “are you?” viviana laughed back

“viviana” lilith voice was stern now

but all she got was viviana mocking her “lilith”

“i am not drunk” viviana answered the previous question “I am watching the vampire diaries, staring at stefan salvatore and the mikaelsons, of course I am in a good mood!”

“you and fictional men” lilith laughed

“oh please, I remember you gushing about how stefan looked really hot in a suit”

“whatever” viviana knew lilith was rolling her eyes for sure

lilith and viviana didnt get to talk any further as their was someone calling vivianaʼs phone

when and how did jeremiah fisher of all people get her new phone number, she had no idea

but she had a feeling she wouldn't like what came after this call so she ignored it, hoping the boy would just leave her alone, but she should have known better.

as belly went downstairs to go out, she noticed the three boys sitting on the couch near the door as they played video games “ see you guys later”

“Damn!” jeremiah said as he threw the controller and went towards belly

" Are you kidding? No. Yeah, fine, just abandon the game completely, Jere." steven said, annoyance clear in his voice as their was a whistle blown in the game

“you . . . look . . . hot.” jeremiah spinned belly as she laughed

“hey, hey, hey, stop flirting with my sister.” steven said, his words directed to jeremiah

“Shut up, steven .”

“no , you shut up.” steven said as he turned to glance at his sister “well, you look good, though.”

“ you driving with, or are you meeting us there?” steven asked

"I'm not going to the book party. I'm going to the drive-in." belly said with a smile

"with who? " jeremiah asked as belly's phone chimed but jeremiah already had a feeling he knew who

“cam” belly said quietly as she checked her phone

“i guess it's just the four of us then” lilith heard as she walked downstairs

“yea about that” jeremiah mumbled receiving a look from steven “i might bail too”

“why?” conrad finally turned to look at jeremiah and belly again

“i have a date” jeremiah replied with a grin on his face

“a date, with who?” steven laughed as lilith stared at him confused

“viviana” jeremiah said mindlessly, not noticing the frown on Conrad's face

“viviana martin?” “the one that lives a few blocks away?” steven and conrad spoke up at the same time

“yea”

“no way” belly laughed as jeremiah raised his eyebrows at her

“and why is that?” lilith snapped at her friend who coughed “ i am just surprised she would go out on a date with him , and i heard the debs saying she was really awkward i guess ”

“she just doesn't like the whole deb scene thing ” jeremiah said quietly making steven nod with a smile

“yea and most of them are like bitches to her, beside vivi is so sweet” lilith defended as she then added “ as long as she's not hungry”

“you finally asked her out?” steven blurted out with a laugh earning an annoyed glance from conrad

but jeremiah didn't get to say anything as belly said a goodbye all while lilith glared at her and  susannah walked downstairs “who asked who out?”

“jeremiah asked viviana on a date” steven said quickly making susannah smile as cordelia was walking down the stairs

“are we talking about my ree?” cordelia asked in surprise as susannah nodded with a beaming smile then turned to jeremiah

“ask her if she could come to the book signing, laurel would be so happy if she showed up”

“you knew about this and didn't tell me?” cordelia accused her daughter who shook her head immediately

“don't call me a brat” lilith immediately said as she noticed cordelia was opening her mouth.

“i was going to say vivianaʼs a brat, but since you said that, i am sure we know who the brat is in this house”

steven snickered as lilith shot him a glare “ and steven is my best friend, we are both brats then” lilith smirked as she walked upstairs, ignoring stevenʼs annoyed voice as he yelled after her

jeremiahʼs face fell for a second. he had no idea how to fix this, thankfully his phone started ringing making him sigh in relief

“it's vivi, she's probably waiting for me so i —” jeremiah didn't continue his sentence as he had already walked out of the door

steven sat laughing at his friend, while he only received annoyed glares from conrad, he didn't want to believe jeremiah was talking about viviana,

it couldn't be right?
