INT. BRIAN'S APARTMENT - DAYTIME
Leo is carrying a desk with Spencer on the other side of it. They walk with it through the living room and into Gemma's room. Brian, Dave, Dean and Gemma are on the floor, putting Gemma's bed together. Leo and Spencer put the bed next to the wall.
BRIAN
Hey, Gem. We are all going to the Ceuvel tomorrow night, our favorite hangout spot in the city. It's a cafe/restaurant. There will then be a live music performance by a small jazz band. Would you like to come with us?
GEMMA (jokes)
Let me think. I JUST moved into a new city. The only people I know are you and your friends. I have no job yet. So... That's a yes. I would love to come.
BRIAN
Cool.
Spencer walks into the living room and Leo turns to the group.
LEO (awkwardly)
I'm... Gonna go get your chair from the van.
Meanwhile Spencer comes into her room again, with a heavy box and puts it on the desk.
BRIAN
The keys are on the kitchen counter.
LEO
Okay.
Leo awkwardly walks past Spencer and into the living room and gets the keys from the counter. She opens the door and walks out through the stairwell. Gemma stands up and puts a piece of wood down.
GEMMA
I'm going to get my mirror. Will be right back.
She walks out of her bedroom and sprints out of the apartment, down the stairs. She then sees Leo standing next to her van with the chair for her desk. She looks sad. Gemma comes near Leo and looks into her eyes.
GEMMA
Hey, what's up?
LEO (awkward)
Nothing much.
GEMMA
Are you okay?
LEO (lies)
Yes.
GEMMA
You don't look okay.
LEO
Well, I am okay.
GEMMA
Look, I don't know you even for 24 hours. But I know when something is wrong with a person. Just tell me already.
LEO
I'm fine.
GEMMA
Leo, you have been quiet the whole time since you got here.
Leo sighs and is afraid to make eye contact.
GEMMA
It's about me, isn't it?
Leo nods, while staying quiet.
GEMMA
Can you please tell me what's wrong? If it's about me, I have to know. Is it something... I've said?
Leo shakes her head.
GEMMA
Leo, look me in the eyes. What's on your mind?
LEO
Okay, I'm sorry.
GEMMA
I won't get mad.
