Leonardo, leader of the resistance, sent out his orders to undergo a stealth attack. Lavenia, being his stealth major and best friend, trusted the job to her alone...
"That's the literal definition of a suicide mission, Lena!" Donatello, clearly angry, placed the floor of his lab, "how stupid can you be to actually take those orders?!" he seethed, his eyebrows furrowing together. Lena signed, rubbing her temples.
"Look, Leo asked me to do this.." she tried to explain, "I can't just tell our leader no, I have to listen." she finished, though it didn't seem to get through to him.
"that's not the-" he clenched his robotic fist tightly, groaning. "what if I lose you?" her gaze softened exactly as the words came out of his mouth, she took a step towards him.
"Don't.. remember what I always say to you before we go on missions?" she smiled serenely. he huffed, lowering his head slightly, as if embarrassed.
"even if we're far apart.... we're still always together.." a small smile finally crept on his face. Lena nodded in approval,
"That's right, you and I both know that I would never do anything stupid enough to leave you alone." she responded. He strode closer, enveloping her in a tight hug. He was too afraid to let her go just yet... in the fear of what might happen on her new solo mission.

Leonardo rested his hands on Lavenia's shoulders, giving her a quick squeeze. "You can do this, Len, I believe in you with everything I have." she smiled up at him, nodding slightly.
"I won't let you down." she said with utmost confidence talking over her words. her eye caught Donnie, clinging to the doorway as he watched her leave helplessly. he had his normal frantic worried expression as she smiled airtight at him. she couldn't let this kill her, for his sake and everyone of her friend's. Leo wishes her Good luck as she heads out into the apocalyptic New York streets.
Lena kept to the shadows, like Master Splinter had taught her all those years of her life. The small turtle peered around the wall that once was the secret entry of Sir Hueso's pizzeria. she missed him very much... Lena soon heads, trying to refocus her attention on the task ahead. She started to move when she heard a Kraang nearby speaking to another.
"... and when we destroy them once and for all," one said, "we'll be able to transform this planet into our new home... What the great Leonardo doesn't know is that we know the exact spot of his next assault." it started to crackle in-humanely as Lena covered her mouth, eyes wide. Donnie was on that attack team, he was going to get killed if she didn't hurry! she sprinted through alleyways until she came upon the entrance for their lair, putting in the code only one of the resistance members would know. as the door swiveled open, she ran past April sitting in the security chair. April stood up,
"Lena!? What's wrong? where're you going?" she called, but Lena was already disappearing into the main chamber. she skidded to a halt, scanning the room for Leo as Casey entered. she looked at her for a moment, her stare quizzical.
"Lavenia? are you OK?" she asked. she turned her head to face her,
"Where are Leo and the others?"she asked, a panicked look on her face. Casey's expression quickly fell.
"they already left for the assault, why?''she asked, her own anxiety flaring up. Lena grand ahold of her arms, hot tears starting to retreat down her cheeks.
"they know..... they're all going to be killed if we don't hurry! get April and meet me outside, NOW!" she ordered as Casey hurried down the hall to security. Lena was already waiting in the front entrance when Casey came back with April. she looked frightened as well..
"Casey told me everything, let's get going." Lena nodded as she took charge, leaving them to where Leo told her the assault would take place. By the time they got there, it was too late... the Kraang had already struck and the resistance was losing, with half the squad already dead or wounded. she scanned her gaze across the battlefield, looking to see where Donnie was fighting. she sighed in relief to finally spot him, battling a Kraang and going strong. she fell into battle beside Leo,
"I tried to get back before you left, I'm so sorry, Leon." she told him. He slashed his Odachi through a Kraang, shaking his head.
"no, it was my fault... I shouldn't have been so careless." he told her. He already felt bad enough for making such a poor decision, when he heard a heart-wrenching shriek of pain across the battlefield. Lena turned around, her eyes widening as she watched Donnie fall to the ground, his battle shell in pieces. She ran towards him, reaching out her arms to save him, but it was too late... with one strike, the Kraang attacking him shoved its long tentacle through his exposed soft-shell. tears streamed from her eyes as she watched him cough up blood, falling to the ground. Leo, in a blind rage, mercilessly solved his sword into its heart. Lena weeped as she held Donnie close to her blood-stained plastron, listening to his breathing, it getting shallower and shallower.
"hey..."he spoke softly, "it'll be okay, Lena.." she shook her head, eyes blurry from crying.
"no!" her voice broke, "Donatello, you can't-" he placed a hand on her cheek,
"you'll be fine, I'll still be with you..." he could feel his life slipping away, "I love you, more than words can say..."with that, the sparkle in his eyes vanished as he fell limp. Lena shook him, her breathing coming out in modified gasps as the flood of tears increased.
"Donnie... please, don't leave me.." her chest tightened, her heart beat at lightspeed as her vision went in and out of focus as she felt herself become heavy with grief as she fell over backwards. Mikey rushed in, catching her before she hit the ground. He looked up at Leo, his eyes painted with pain and grief.
" Leo... w-we have to get her out of here." he picked her up, holding her against him protectively. Leo gathered Donnie's fallen figure, testing his head on his shoulder as they made their way back to the lair.
