i stood on my tippy toes to touch the tip of her nose with mine and her eye smile came out so naturally with her cute giggle.. it was such a beautiful sight to see up close.
"my. nari." i empathized those two words while maintaining eye contact with those beautiful light brown eyes.
"my. hanni."
our giggles filled the room, my heart couldn't help but jump around so much at how happy we were together.
"you made me so much happier today."
"i like seeing your pretty smile." she whispered.
"you're the reason behind it."
her hands went to cup my face and squished my cheeks together a bit, shaking it left to right gently.
"you make me happy, so in return i want to make you happy."
"i love-"
"yah! pham hanni, it's time to blow out your cake!"
yunjin unnie yelled from the living room with her very very loud voice. she's so loud and sometimes she doesn't even notice or realize that she is.
"okay bro!"
"save what you were going to say until after okay?" she winked at me and took my hand to head out to the living room.

we were finishing up the birthday song and i couldn't help but gaze over at her. she was looking at me with warm eyes and a warm smile, i did the same back and i watched her smile grow wider.
at the same time, i was jealous because she was sitting next to minji.
the one who also liked her, i didn't know she actually had emotions.
"happy birthday to you~"
the song ended with loud cheers especially from yunjin unnie and nari.
"you're getting old man." yunjin unnie teased.
"not as old as you, hag." i retorted.
"damn- ah!" nari cursed and was quickly corrected with the pull of her cheek by the stone-faced kim minji.
"that hurt.." she pouted.
'she's so cute.'
"whoever wants cake, serve yourself." i said, standing up to walk over to the pouty hwang crossing her arms.
she is genuinely different from her unnie in some aspects, she is more childish and playful while nabi unnie is more mature and reserved.
i squatted down to her level and she gave me the fierce cat eyes that i don't find intimidating.
"did that hurt?" i caressed her red cheek.
"yes."
"can i make it feel better?"
her gazed turned into curiosity and waited for me to do something.
i leaned forward slowly to place a kiss on her cheek where she was pinched. this must've made minji angry because she stormed off the second my lips touched.
nari's eyes widened after realizing what i did just now.
"does it feel better, nari-ya?"
she shook her head and i grinned knowing that she wanted more. so, i did that and kept kissing her cheek until it started to tickle her and the laughs started.
'i want to make her happy like this forever.'

{hanni's POV}
"after all that happened during the party, did you not feel anything nari-ah?" i asked.
"i did feel something. i felt happy, genuinely happy."
"so, i wasn't the only one right?"
she shook her head, looking almost defeated that this situation is coming back again.
the one before us nearly destroyed our friendship or at least what we had. it's like i'm going back into the past, dejavu if that's what you call it.
"what are you trying to get at, hanni?" minji snarled.
"what i'm trying to get at?" i walked closer to them and stopped only a few feet away.
"i want to know this."
i looked straight at nari and asked her a question that could determine everything.
"who's the one.. who makes you truly happy?"
