Quinn's POV

I park in the lot of Dollar General and take my helmet off.

'I've come here too many times in the last couple of days. I should really diversify where I buy my groceries.' I think to myself.

I leave my helmet resting on my handlebars, looking for this trip to be a quick in and out. Head to the condiments aisle, I search for the ranch as quickly as possible.

"Hey pretty lady." I hear a voice say from down the aisle.

I turn and see two creepy looking men approaching me. The one who originally spoke is on the bigger side, probably in his late forties. He has a buzz cut to hide the fact that he's going bald.
The other is taller, more lean, and most likely in his thirties. His hair is long and ratty, and almost looks like he hasn't showered in a couple of days. I force myself not to recoil, not knowing what they might do.

"Shit," I mutter. There's nothing good that can come from this. I try to glance for the store clerk, but he's nowhere to be seen.

"It's awful late for you to be out, what's your curfew?" The tall one snarfs. I walk the opposite way towards the back of the store, and turn around the other aisle. Hoping to scooch by them so I can check out and hope they get the message.

Just as I'm about to walk by where they were moments ago, the older one juts out in front of me.

"Hey girly we just wanted to talk." He says. Reaching his arm out and grabbing the other aisle, trying to block me in. I stop.

"Excuse me." I say sternly. He relaxes his position and stands up straight.

"Hey now, no need to get snooty." He says, recoiling and putting his hands up next to his head, feigning innocence. I ignore him and begin to walk by, purposefully making myself as thin as possible. Just as I'm almost by them I hear the guy behind me shout.

"Hey!" Suddenly I feel a hand on my wrist as I am pulled backwards. I am shoved against the shelves, my back making first contact. For a second I'm stunned into silence from the assault. The guy has his arms on either side of me, preventing me from moving away.

"Don't walk away when I'm talking to you." He snarls at me. I snap out of my dazed state and bring my arms up to brace his shoulders, and swiftly bring my knee up to make contact with his groin. He groans in pain and doubles over, I push him to the floor and start to run. I drop my ranch dressing and make for the exit.

"Hey where do you think you're going?" The tall guy says, blocking the exit. I start to go around him one way and he lunges. At the last second, I turn on my heel,  and pivot around him. He falls to the ground with a thud.

I hear the man shout in a language I don't understand as I run towards my bike and throw my helmet on. I start my engine as the two men run, or hobble, out of the store towards me. I rev my bike to life and barrel straight towards them.

They freeze and I turn sharply, leaning close to the ground before taking off out of the parking lot. Running the stop sign, I head down the main road, away from them. I risk a look back and see the two guys watching me before quickly running to their car.

"Ha, like they would actually catch me. Not a chance in the world." I say to myself. I push my engine harder as I head down the street, popping a wheelie for a second as I push my bike to accelerate quicker. I'm going 65 in a 40 when I am forced to slow down. A roadblock sits ahead of me.

"Shit." I notice the power truck ahead of me to see them working on a telephone wire.

'Crap, I don't have time to sit here.' I think. I make the quick decision to turn left onto an older road that used to be the main route into the city. It's not well maintained and hasn't been paved in a while, but it gets me from where I live into the city relatively quickly. Not a lot of people travel this road anymore, so I don't think the creepy men would think to follow me this way.
