Breaking points (Chapter 1)

[The story takes place after the audio from episode 9, the club are discussing the competition and what to do with Jake after he got kicked out in the music room.]

"Milly stop playing with my headphones!" Sean exclaims as Milly takes Sean's headphones. Luke and Zander watch them having some fun as they wait for Hailey to come to the music room. The club haven't recovered from the recording of Jake, instead they have decided to not think about it as they have more important things to worry about, that being the music competition. "Will you guys cut it out already?! We're supposed to be practicing for the competition! Not playing around with headphones!" Zander says in an irritated tone as Milly and Sean look at Luke and Zander with a realization. Luke agrees with Zander as the club hear the door open. Hailey enters with a smile on her face, having eyebags from crying the previous night from the recording but she doesn't think about it.

"Hey guys! Are you ready to practice?" Hailey speaks in a cheery tone, acting like nothing happened from the day before. The music club light up with excitement as they are raring to go until Luke mentions if Hailey is ok. Hailey looks down with a sad and hurt look. "I know I'm not supposed to talk about Jake after everything that happened but I think has a reason on why he said all of those things-" Hailey is cut off by Zander as he's still clearly mad at Jake for being a two-faced liar and asshole to the club. Talking about them behind their backs after everything they did with him over the past month. "Why should we even let him explain? For all we know, he could've talked about us like that this whole time with those jerks! He hasn't changed one bit!" Zander's eyes fill with rage, not even speaking Jake's name. The rest of the club all look in shock and heartbreak as they hear Zander utter those words to Hailey, however, Hailey doesn't let this slide. "Zander, don't jump to conclusions! Yes he could've done that but he wasn't like that with us at all. Just think about all the things he did for us! Getting Milly's diary back, helping find Sean's computer and getting you guys into a relationship!" Silence falls onto the room as Milly speaks up saying that he did help her get her diary page back as the rest of the club agree. Zander is not convinced. "That doesn't prove anything Hailey! It shows that he'll be forever loyal to Drew and those other jerks-" The door opens. Jake walks into the music club. Dark circles under his eyes and his mood turned sour. "You!" Zander is enraged as Jake looks at the club. "Hello to you too. Zander." Jake looks so tired and angry as Hailey controls the situation. "Jake, we'll give you a chance to explain." Jake's eyes light up with joy as he hears Hailey speak, Hailey looks at Zander giving him a glare and convincing him to at least listen to Jake's reason. Zander reluctantly agrees as Jake explains the whole situation about the recording.

"I know you guys are tired of hearing apologies so I'll make this quick.." Jake looks at the club with soft and sadden eyes. " It all happened at Drew's house.. I... I didn't mean to say all of those things... it all happened so fast and I can't forgive myself for everything I said in that recording.... I found out Zoey recorded me..." Jake pauses as he eyes fill with tears, the club looks at Jake in shock as Jake continues to explain his side of the story. He finishes his explanation as Milly shouts at Jake; "I'm going to destroy that brat!" Milly is clearly upset that Zoey recorded Jake but is still hurt from Jake saying those things about the club. Jake is shocked to hear this as he defends Zoey even though she recorded him. "Milly please don't! They're my 'friends'..." Jake stops talking as he's also angry at his "friends" for doing that behind his back. "Get out of the music room! You are not welcomed here anymore!" Hailey looks at Zander with annoyance as she tries to calm Zander down. He refuses to listen to Hailey's pleas. "NO! Why should I hear him explain anything else or anything anymore?! He believed their lies and fell for their trap! He's a backstabber and he expects us to forgive him?!" Zander shouts. Jake pleads but Zander refuses to listen to Jake any longer. He walks up to Jake and gets ready to slap him. As this is going on, Sean stays silent until he sees Zander walk up to Jake preparing to slap some "reality" into him. In the heat of the moment, Sean steps in front of Jake, taking the slap and getting hurt in the process. Jake had his eyes closed, when his eyes opened again, he notices Sean standing in front of himself and freezes in shock. Sean stands in front of Jake, a slap mark visible on his face, his face as he looks blank and empty. The club is silent.
