The only thing separating the world into two is justice and injustice—good and bad.

There are the people who are actively doing good every day and trying to enforce justice onto others around them—and then there are the others

The ones who go out of their way to cause injustice.

Of course, there are the in-betweens—the ones who are just trying to live their lives and get through their day. They're the safe option in my opinion.

Spreading injustice is the best way to get your karma in tenfold—I mean regardless, you'll pay up for your actions, it's just a matter of time.

But then again, even being on the other side of that, it somehow feels the same way.

Like you're destined to slip even once while trying to help spread justice.

It's so unfair that I have to be seen as the bad guy—as someone so scary and terrifying when all I want is to live in a safe world.

Some days I wonder if there's ever a way out.

I mean one wrong move and I'm—

"Devora, come on, tan or black," my best friend Gia cut me short.

I let out a sigh, "I came here for coffee and silence," I reminded her as I leaned back against her soft couch.

It's always good to bask in the calm before the chaos that my job came with.

I suddenly felt my eyes lower down to the hand that Gia placed on her hip—a tell-tale sign that she was running low on patience.

"The tan," I said, knowing it was too early to end up on Gia's shit list.

Gia let out a content sigh, shrugging the tan blazer on over her button-up shirt.

"You knew better than to come here for silence—coffee maybe, but silence was a long shot," she said, heading back over toward her room to put the other blazer away.

I chuckled as I sipped on the warm coffee, "I figured you'd be busy rehearsing for your presentation," I said, knowing she took her work presentations seriously.

Gia emerged from her room—now with heels on, "You actually just made a good point, will you listen to my presentation?" she questioned.

I parted my lips dramatically when she snatched my coffee from my hand and took a quick sip before handing it back.

"Not after you stole my coffee, I won't," I pointed out as I stood from the couch.

I wasn't actually mad, but I at least had to give her shit for what she did.

Gia shrugged, smiling slightly to herself, "Eh, I don't really need to rehearse anyway—I got this one in the bag," she said, clearly not caring that I won't listen to her presentation.

I rolled my eyes as I walked toward her kitchen, "I want to hype you up for your confidence, but since you feel the need to steal my coff—"

"Actually my coffee," Gia smartly corrected as she walked over toward me.

I rolled my eyes again, "Your coffee that I made for myself!" I emphasized, setting the mug down.

Gia frowned dramatically, and I just knew she was about to fuck with me, "Aw, D, I can force myself to throw it back up? Will that make you feel better?" she questioned, clearly being sarcastic.

I scrunched up my nose, "It really isn't that ser—Gia!" I cut myself short when she leaned over my cup as if she were about to throw up.

Gia only let out a string of laughs, "I needed my daily dose of pissing you off for the day," she said between laughs.
