A new start

Leah's POV

I applied for a job a couple days ago and I started today. A lot of thought was put into this and I decided it was best to handle my own responsibilities. My shift as a waiter in a small cafe about 3 blocks away started an hour from now so I rolled tiredly out of bed and went to get ready for work.

After a long shower, I got dressed into my pink word shirt with the cafe's name on it, a black skater shirt and black flats. I put my hair into a messy ponytail and covered it over with my black work hat.

I kissed Lucas and Darcy goodbye, then headed out side of the door. The walk to the cafe seemed really long and I was starting to sweat.

As I arrived, a girl that looked my age greeted me with a warm smile. She had black hair with blue highlights and her eyes were grey, she had sliver braces and a huge tattoo of a flower on her arm.

"Hey! I'm Ashley, you must be the new girl" she said with loads of excitement in her voice.

I giggled at how excited she was, but wait why was she so happy?

"Hey, yeah I am. I'm Leah by the way" I said while gesturing my hand.

He looked at my hand weirdly then pulled me Into a hug.

"No one has ever been this excited to see me" I said to her smiling.

"Well I am, I've been stuck with those two guys for about a year now. Finally I got a girl to chill and gossip and hang out and take pics and go shopping and-

"Breathe" I said cutting her off, then laughing at her behavior.

I can't help but believe that Ashley and I are gonna get really close.

"Wait did you say two guys?" I asked her curiously.

"Oh yeah, Chris and Nathan" she said smiling uncontrollably.

Chris and Nathan entered the room with flour all over them. Their hair were brown and curly and they both had in cookie dough, the both of them had hazel eyes and their lips were a light shade of pink. The two guys have the same exact features and I came to a conclusion that they were twins.

Nathan walked over to Ashley and gave her a long sloppy kiss on her lips. They stood their for a couple minutes until they were interrupted by my sound behind of us.

"How many times do I have to tell you guys, not in the shop" a middle aged lady said with a huge smirk on her face.

"Oh hello sweetheart I'm Eleanor but you could call me El like everyone else around here. You must be the new girl, Leah right? She said sweetly.

Is everyone about here so nice and full of joy? Today's my first day and I already love them. They made me feel comfortable, I felt like I could tell them anything so will I did.

After I introduced my self to everyone, they wanted to get to know me more. At first I was kinda scared on how they would have reacted but I guess since I'll be working here basically until I'm finished high school I couldn't hurt to tell him.

First I told them about what happen with my dad, then I told them about Darcy and about my best friend Lucas. For the first time in a long long while, I've open up about my life. I never thought I would have done this but for some reason I just had to.

tThey all looked at me with concerned and confused eyes. Their faces were blank and this made me very nervous.

I shifted in my seat feeling very uncomfortable, thoughts came flowing into my mind and I started to over think. What if they hate me tuonow. What if they think low of me?

"Leah we didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable, we were just kind of shocked that your own father would do that to you" Chris said softly.

"Hey! why don't we just work this off. I don't want my first day to me full of sadness, we should have fun and enjoy this day" I said trying to change the subject.

Nathan was about to say something but he paused then nodded.

Costumer after costumer came into the cafe, today was more busy than I thought it was going to be. Time went faster by the minutes and before I knew it, it was closing time.

Eleanor went to change the Open sign to Close. After we mopped the store and wiped the tables it was time to leave.

We all ate ice-cream then went on our separate ways. Before we left Nathan, Chris and Ashley gave me their numbers and argued about who I should message first.

It makes me happy that I finally got to make more friends other than Lucas and they accept me for who I was.
