Part fifteen

It's been a couple of days since the incident with me and shuji, we've been in contact and it's been like always, like what we were before but knowing we had feelings for each other...

At some point I thought he was gonna ask me to be his girlfriend but something stoped him. Which made me worry if there was... someone else?

As the class commenced, the teacher started drawing straight lines downwards in a row as he made them turned around to face the classroom
-Does anyone know what these lines stand for?- he asked hoping for someone to raise they're hand to answer the question

Which nobody did as they all continue talking to they're friends and laughing. Making him sigh

-These six lines... stand for the six million people that were killed in the Holocaust- as he finished his sentence, the class quiet down and listened 

-Jewish people, gypsies, handicapped people, homosexuals... but mostly Jews.-

As he talked I quietly took notes as for sure this subject was gonna be in the following exam or assignment that we would have.

-Oh my god i feel, like, so bad for the Jewish people in world war ll- Maya said turning around to look at me as I nod trying to concentrate on what the teacher said

After a few minutes from the teacher explaining, some classmates started saying how they're Jewish and half, and even a girl inviting the entire class to her bat mitzvah this weekend

-Well, your homework assignment is to present to the class what single item that you would bring with you if the Nazis showed up at your door-

-

-Mami ya regrese!!- I scream walking in through the house door, letting my mum know I was home
-Okayy!!- I hear here yell back from the room next door

Sighing I walk towards my brother as he watches a movie on the sofa. Lucky him, he finishes school two hours earlier than me. And we start at the same time

-Here take it- I say handing him a packet of his favorite snack cake that's called 'gansito'. Next to my school there's a shop that sales them real cheap so I get them for him. Even tho we sometimes don't get along, he still has a special place in my heart.

He looks up at me and smiles, as he snatches the snacks from my hand and starts opening a packet of them

-Hey!- I say looking at him, expecting at least a "thank you"

-Gracias...- he said with a smile trying not to look to happy even tho I knew he was

As Maya is sitting down doing her homework with her mum next to her trying to help, she got up to go pick up something to help her with the assignment as she turned to look at Shuji.

-Shuji... have you ever been to a bat mitzvah before?- Maya asks him

-Yeah, I've been to a couple.- he answers back still facing the computer in front of him

-I think there's going to be, like, Dippin' Dots there.- she says smiling -But like If I were to have a bat mitzvah, i feel like I would have like mum and dad get me a water fountain of Kool-Aid or something-
