Chapter 17: Game Day 1

"Hey!" Katie shouted

"Is that true?" I laughed

"No..." Katie said clearly lying

"Sure" I nodded smiling

"Alessia Russooo" I shouted as I saw her at the other end off the hall
"Will you be quiet" Leah scolded me from besides me
"Just happy to see my new roomie" I teased
"Oh yeah shame I was planning some fun stuff for us two if we had a room together" Leah teased
"Oh yeah and what were they"
"Play sudoku together... what else would we do?" Leah teased
"Idiot" I rolled my eyes
"Well this is my room, see you tomorrow" I added
"See you in the morning, night" Leah said walking away to her room

"Lessi" I said from my bed
"Alex" Alessia said from her bed
"What time do we need to be up for tomorrow?" I asked
"8"
"Thanks, goodnight" I smiled
"Night, Alex"

We made our way out onto the pitch and shook hands with the other team before running off to our positions

"Straight in Arsenal!" I shouted at they took kick off
We immediately pinned Man City into there final third, Beth got the ball off there RB and played into the box, I got a slight touch but Ellie roebuck caught it fairly easily

It was pretty much back and forth for at least 25 minutes, until we started to put a lot more pressure onto them.
Kim won it in midfield and played it out to Katie who took it up the pitch and crossed it into the box.

I knew I needed to get my head on the ball as it was a high cross. At the very last minute I saw Russo make a run into the box so I headed it down to fall to her feet so she could do a low driven shot instead

Seen as Man City were preparing for a shot in the air they sorted themselves out for it but with the quick switch off play they weren't ready and Russo hit it home to make it 1-0

She ran off to the corner flag and stood in front off the arsenal fans while tapping the badge, I ran up to her and jumped onto her back

"Lessiiii russooooo" I shouted as the fans chanted it

Eventually we made it back to our half and the game kick off again.

Man City were shell shocked from the goal so we used that too our advantage and before you know it I had the ball on the outside off the box and aimed for top corner

I watched it as it curved and just missed Roebucks hand going straight into top bins

I ran over to the fans and held up my hand showing two fingers and then looking down at my wrist acting like i was checking the time

Everyone came over and high-fived and then we made our way back to our half

We came back out after halftime and kept up the pressure that we had put on in the first half.

We kept it on the floor and did short passes with a few through balls being played now and then to try and get in behind off the defence.

I'd say it was around the 74' minute when we had to defend a corner, Leah headed it out and straight away we went for an attack, seen as most of there team were still in the box

Beth sprinted to the ball as I made a move to receive a through ball from her when we got up the pitch a bit more

It was now a 2v2 as Beth played the ball to me, I took a good touch to get away from Alex Greenwood and made my way into the box.
