(Listen to the song while reading)

After the rain subsided, you spent the night drinking shots with Jimmy. in what felt like a month, he had all cell phone privileges cut off for sneaking out with a 'friend' (you) which he never identified, at least that's what he told you at school. You weren't allowed to see him after school so you would sometimes skip classes to... hang out, for a bit. Yes, you and Finney randomly got really close, you liked him- he liked you, friends with benefits right?

Finney pulled you closer, tightening his grip around your waist as you took lead, smacking your lips on his, drooling your tounge behind his teeth. "Fuck we gotta get to class come one." You whispered pulling away. "No, one more minute please." He held you close, your hips touching his as you felt yourself giggle. "I'm out, come on we're late." He relaxed sighing, fixing his hair and letting you walk out of the stall as you gave him one last kiss.

The next day.

Finney POV:

I dragged myself out of bed in the morning, heading to the door where I had to unlock the multiple locks before stepping outside to the mailbox. Letting out a big yawn, I noticed how my dad had become super overprotective lately—always picking me up from school and all that. The school had beefed up security too, with teachers practically walking kids home, and cops keeping an eye out. The whole town felt like it was under surveillance. At first, people were all concerned and making jokes about how many times I'd gone missing, but soon enough, the buzz died down, and it seemed like nobody cared much anymore. As for those rapists who attempted to attack Y/n, they were never caught, and neither were we as we had burnt all the evidence to crisps. But, I guess it didn't matter too much anymore.

As soon as school was over, all I wanted to do was call her. I dropped my bag in my room and rushed to the house phone, dialing her number before my dad could find me. "Y/n, Y/n my dad can't see me on the phone so I have to be quick. "Oh, ok Finney what did you call me for?" She stuttered. "Well first, do you like me because I like you a lot." I leaned against the wall, attempting to sound casual. "Hah... yeah, I kinda really like you too" we both shared a giggle. "Well, do you wanna go out with me?" As I spoke, I heard rustling nearby, causing my attention to shift abruptly. "Yeah- but aren't you like grounded?" Y/n replied, a playful grin lighting up her face. "Eh, I'll find a way out, there's this carnival happening on Friday night—do you maybe wanna go together?" I held my breath, anxiously awaiting her response. A small gasp escaped her lips. "A carnival? I've never been to one before, sure—sounds like a date." My heart soared, and my eyes lit up with excitement. "Great! It's within walking distance, so I'll pick you up at 6?"

"Do you know where I live?" I nodded confidently. "I'll find my way there," I recalled. "Great, I gotta go hang out with my mum now. See you then~" Y/n hung up, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of elation from the way she spoke. "Fuck yes!" I exclaimed, holding up a fist in victory before realizing Gwen was standing beside me. "Olalaaa, someone's got a date," she teased. Trying to downplay it, I walked away, insisting, "No, I don't. It's just a friend." Gwen rolled her eyes, grinning mischievously. "I'm not stupid," she giggled, hopping away, leaving me to roll my eyes playfully at her teasing.

Y/n POV:

After hanging up the phone with a mixture of excitement and embarrassment, you tried to suppress the small smile that crept onto your face. "See you then, what the fuck, that was so stupid," you muttered, facepalming yourself in a futile attempt to hide your reddened cheeks. It was hard to believe that in just two days, you were going on a date. Oh my god...

Just as you were lost in your thoughts, your mom walked into the room, catching you kicking your legs while lying on your stomach. She smiled at you, and you returned the gesture, feeling a little flustered. "I'm on break from work, so... do you wanna hang out today?" she asked, and you eagerly nodded, hopping out of bed to follow her. "So boys already, hey?" she teased, causing you to roll your eyes. "He's just a friend," you protested, but she playfully interrupted, leaving you feeling slightly embarrassed.
