Chapter One

Introduction to me

Sitting here I can feel the butterflies in my stomach as I type each word unsure if anyone would even believe me but deep down, I knew that I must tell my story. Even though you have no idea how many times I have changed this word or that word, I finally think my story is ready to be told.

My name is Amber,  but lately you may know me as Deanna and boy I have a story to  tell you. Some people might have thought it was right out of some dime store novel but it’s real.  This story happens to be all about yours truly and my journey from the last few years of my life.  Well the real me suffers from a few health issues called epilepsy, depression, arthritis and that’s just to name a few.

Some of the things that a seizure patient must face are the side effects of the medication which could do so many things from gaining weight to  losing weight. There are times people must deal with nausea and vomiting or dizziness. The hardest one I had to deal with was that fact that most of the seizure meds are hard on the skin. It causes cystic acne and that leaves scars.

BB And  with all that I have lost some memories and my accent has changed. So, I carry the diagnosis of amnesia and what is called foreign accent syndrome. I was hoping my journey would help anyone out there that has seen some stress and strife in their life. It has taken me a long time to get there to be able to understand any of it. There are times that I lose myself not understanding what I did wrong to have this happen to me. You just must work at it. I did say that my accent changed, and it was a drastic change. I was born in Virginia and have lived in Georgia for over 20 years. So, you know I had an accent of a Southern woman who cussed more than any sailor in a fifty-mile radius
