All fun and games until..

I hear commotion in the background

"Too late Jughead already came in talking to his dad ranting about the situation"

I sigh taking my phone away from my ear "damn it jug..." I whisper and put the phone back up to my ear

"I'll be there soon just tell sweet pea to meet me at the bus stop I will need a ride" she answers with a soft "okay" and I hang up hearing her talking to sweet pea and I walk onto the bus putting my headphones in for she short bus ride soon pulling into the southside seeing sweet pea typing away on his phone waiting on me I sneak up on him "who ya texting?" I giggle as he jumps but he then hops off his bike picking me up in a big hug "just Toni and the others they are wondering if you're ok from earlier" he hugs me a bit longer then let's go "yea I'm fine just sore from punching that prick" I growl a bit thinking of Reggie pulling his shit " by the way, I cannot stay for long because the pep rally is tonight and I sadly have to be there would you mind giving me a ride back home sometime soon so I can change?" Sweet pea smiles and nods "yeah for sure" we get to the wyrm shortly after we sped off on his bike and I get surrounded by all of my friends

We hang out for a few hours, and I told him the story of what happened in school and I get high-fives and pat on the back and soon enough, I had to head out and hop on the back of sweet pea's motorcycle to head home so I can change then I got dropped off at the school and got ready for the pep rally

As the band is playing and marching, the football team is getting ready for the game and we are on the side cheering getting ready for the big show that we had planned as we walk onto the field getting ready I see Archie run up to the beverage tableware miss Grundy is talking to her and it looked like a very serious conversation making me even more suspicious about what's going on

Principal weatherbee, Mayor McCoy and the football coach step on stage " now to kick off this pepper alley. I'd like to hand it over to our very own mayor McCoy" Josie's mom steps forward thanking principal weatherbee " it is heartening to see so many of you here even in weather like this, but a lack of heart in school spirit has never been the riverdale way tonight's pepper alley isn't like any other we've had in the past, and we shouldn't pretend that it is, which is why I would like to dedicate this evening to the memory of one of our brightest Jason Blossom" I look towards Cheryl who looks deep in thought no doubt about her brother and I felt a tug at my heart feeling her pain "we're with him tonight now join me in welcoming to the field our very own River Vixens and their special guest stars. My daughter, Josie and her Pussycats" as Josie and the pussycats walk on stage we get ready for our routine

As the song and routine and coach goes on stage and introduces the football team and the squad and I go over to the poster, hold it up and the football team runs through. I keep an ion Cheryl as it seems that she is having a hard time seeing everyone except for her brother running across the field, her clapping slowly stops and she gets a look of sadness on her face and she soon runs off leaving everybody wondering what was wrong I let go of my side and I run after her and I find her in the locker room sobbing. I woke up slowly, not wanting to scare her.

"Cheryl ?" She looks back starting to wipe her tears as I continue to walk forward "Cheryl , what is it? What happened" I sit next to Cheryl as she tries to tell me what's going through her head "Jason. He's gone...." She starts to cry harder, and I looked down. "I know.. I know he is" trying not to cry as I try and comfort her " no, you don't. You don't understand he was supposed to come back." I feel a wave of confusion but I push it away as I hear footsteps outside the locker room. I look over and see Betty and Veronica but I turned back to Cheryl. "I'm alone..." she sobs and I move her hair away from her face " you're not alone Okay?" I rub her back and she quickly turns around to hug me and I hug back. As she cries. After she stops crying and fixes her self, we head back out to the pep rally to have fun and pretend like it didn't happen.

After the pep rally by the stage, Betty and Veronica walk up to me "Hey." Betty so softly, and I wave silently and she looks at my sister " we saw you and Cheryl not many girls would've done what you did". I scoff and shake my head " full disclosure I've had my share of emotional breakdowns, and V can tell you all about it" I stop walking looking at them as Veronica nods agreeing with me. " if you're not doing anything, do you wanna go get a milkshake at Pops with us?" I think about it " no thank you I am probably going to change and head home but you guys have fun have a little B and V time you need it" I say smiling softly

I go home, thinking about what Cheryl shared with me and I change into my pajamas which include a comfortable pair of spandex shorts, and a T-shirt and I soon drift off to sleep, hoping the next day it will be better

~next morning~

As I wake up the next day, I look at the clothes that were already laid out for me. Confused, I get up, and I see the dress I would always steal from Veronica and I paired with my platform boots.

I bumped into Veronica as I leave my room "hey V thanks for letting me borrow the dress." I smile softly hugging my sister she hugs back giggling " honestly you can keep it. It's more your style than mine and I only kept it because I knew that you wanted it and that's the old Veronica not who I am now. Enjoy the gift sis" she smiles walking away and I shrug it off thinking nothing of it and start the journey to school

As we get to school, we walk directly into class I walk past Archie, who looks like he is going to talk to the principal not too long after I arrive in class, and I sit down next to Kevin and Betty, shortly after the sheriff and principal come into the class as it's starting and we all turn towards the door as Cheryl stands up " you're here for me aren't you? Because of the autopsy?" She asks softly " we don't need to do this in front of your classmates Cheryl" principal weatherbee says "it's all right principal weatherbee" she holds her hands out "They'll find out soon enough" I look at Betty and Kevin shocked "now that won't be necessary" sheriff Keller says " Wait Cheryl find out what?" I ask worriedly " that I'm guilty" she says sadly as she was led out of class Veronica looks at me just as shocked as the look that I believe is on my face.
