Welcome!

For those who are looking to better understand how the chapters of this book coincide with those of Your Hand to Hold, the original story that led to this companion story, look no further!

Detailed below are all of the Chapters and how they fit into the main storyline. As this is a companion story and not a complete retelling, there will NOT be a chapter for each chapter of Your Hand to Hold, yet there will be a LOT of easter eggs. As such, it can become slightly confusing. Hopefully, this will act as a guideline for those looking to read the story in its entirety with both perspectives or those who might need a refresher of Eibhlin's thoughts and feelings. However you wish to read these, please enjoy!

Chapters

ARRIVAL: This partners with the Prologue that can be found in chapter one of Your Hand to Hold; Eibhlin is 11 Midgardian years when she is brought to Asgard, while Loki and Thor would be roughly 13.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS: This is a prequel chapter that shows the main grouping as roughly ages 12-15 (Eibhlin would be the youngest with Sif between her and the princes, who are only 6ish months apart) with a few outliers of 17 (Fandral), 19(Hogun) and 22 (Volstagg). Please remember that while time jumps through these prequel chapters, their mental and physical ages are slowed (roughly 5 Midgardian/Earth years is equal to 30ish Asgardian years so they're going to age very slowly)

THE COURSE OF TRUE LOVE NEVER DID RUN SMOOTH: Another prequel chapter with an age up of roughly 2 years.

SECRETS AND LIES: Another prequel chapter with an age up (by choice! Please don't logic my math...) of a year and a half. (Eibhlin 15, Loki 17 and Thor 18)

HEAVY IS THE CROWN: This prequel chapter occurs four months after the previous one and maintains the ages of the prior chapter

LITTLE DOVE: The final prequel chapter that takes place exactly a year before the coronation and sets them up with the same physical and mental ages of 16-19 for the main trio that are present in the first Thor film.

INTRIGUE: This pairs with the first chapter of Your Hand to Hold and the first half of the second, while filling in the blanks around Eibhlin getting ready for the Coronation.

DECEPTION: This pairs with the second half of chapter two and goes through chapter three and the very beginning of chapter four of Your Hand to Hold

NOT PART OF THE PLAN: This is an additional perspective chapter that fills in the time between Eibhlin returning to her room after her altercation with Odin  and Loki coming to her door in the middle of the night in chapter four of Your Hand to Hold.

HEIR TO THE JOTUNHEIM: This partners with the second half of chapter four of Your Hand to Hold, and the first half of chapter five.

WORTHY: This chapter pairs with the rest of chapter five of Your Hand to Hold and fills in Loki's side of what occurs while the other's plot on how to get to Midgard to warn Thor.

LESSON LEARNED: This chapter pairs with chapter six and the beginning of chapter seven of Your Hand to Hold while also explaining how Loki managed to get everything together so seamlessly.

RISE OF THE BASTARD SON: This partners with the remainder of chapter seven of Your Hand to Hold and further explains Loki's mindset towards the end of Thor 2011.

FALL OF THE WOULD-BE-KING: This chapter partners with chapter eight of Your Hand to Hold and shares Loki's point of view regarding the final battle on the Bifróst bridge before his fall.

THE VOID: This is an additional perspective chapter detailing what Loki went through after his fall from the bridge at the end of chapter eight of Your Hand to Hold; please note, this chapter has a serious trigger warning.
