I paced in my bedroom, avoiding looking at the hideous white dress hanging by the window...

My parents were seriously about to make me marry a prince I'd never met for the sake of a mediocre alliance!

I stopped to gaze out of the window, willing for tomorrow to never come, when my ladies maid entered to help me get ready for bed

"Oh, Molly... I do not want tomorrow to happen." I stated

"I know, Your Highness..." she replied, looking just as sad as I felt.

I sighed as I allowed her to undress me into my undergarments...

"It's not like you can just run away either. Everyone would be looking for you - you're truly stuck in a bad situation..." Molly said

I looked her up and down, her underwhelming work clothes were so dull, you'd never pick her out of a crowd...

She would be able to pass anyone without turning a head.

She was so lucky...

No one would stop her if they saw her out...

An idea suddenly popped to my head

"Molly, I can trust you, yes?" I asked, causing her to look up at me with startled eyes

"Of course you can, Your Highness!" She replied, busying herself again with my many layers of clothing

"Then you'll bring me some of your work clothes when we're done here, I wish to leave undetected... I do not want a marriage with someone I've never even seen before."

Molly looked at me in shock before nodding

"As you wish, Your Highness..." She agreed. "I won't tell a soul."

She hurried off as I once again paced my room in my undergarments until she soon arrived back with some spare work clothes

She helped me into them.

They were heavier than expected and quite itchy...

How the staff worked in these garments was beyond me.

As soon as it was dark outside, I began my escape with Molly's help, knowing very well that at any minute, anyone could wake up from hearing a sound...

I delicately made my way through the Palace, taking routes less likely to make noises until I was successfully outside!

I bid a farewell to Molly, thanking her for all her help.

From there, I ran to the nearest Palace wall and climbed with all the strength I had until I landed on the other side with a thud.

Without looking back to see if anyone had heard me, I ran as fast as my legs could take me.

I WAS FREE!

I ran and didn't stop until I could no longer continue, struggling for breath with aching legs...

I looked around and had no idea where I was... near the ocean, which was plenty good enough for me.

Away from my parents and their ridiculous idea of a wedding...

I just had to hide for a while, so they couldn't find me before the wedding tomorrow...

Somewhere, no one would think to look for a Princess...

With a new burst of energy, I began walking, looking for a suitable hiding place

The energy burst disappeared as quickly as it appeared... but just in time!

A huge, ornate ship looked to be abandoned on the shore in the distance!
