Mostly shortened to Trig, is a language made up by Callie Cadogan. It translates to tree/forest language.
Spoken by all Grounder clans, even the Nomadic Grounders. Only the warriors are taught English (Gonasleng), making them bilingual.
While the main language is Trig, other clans have different dialects.
It is not the only spoken language, but is most common and does not have its own writing system.
Ge smauk daun - get smack down - but really means "get knocked down"
Hod op - hold up - but really means "stop"
Callie Cadogan tells Becca Franko that she learned Latin at the age of 10 to help create the language. When her father, Bill Cadogan hears it again with Miller, Jackson, Gabriel, and Niylah he claims it sounds different than when he heard it last, showing the eveolution of the language.
