Chapter 1: Part 1 - The New Intern

It was several months after being an intern at The Daily Planet, in which it would be Clark Kent's first day as an official journalist working for The Daily Planet after Perry White, his boss, had liked his, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen's work that they've been doing for the newspaper and their character they've shown throughout their internships. Clark stepped into Perry White's office for his first assignment as an official journalist, where he instead found himself face to face with the new intern, Jake Jensen.

"Clark, glad you could make it. This here's Jake Jensen, our newest intern," Perry said greeting Clark warmly, introducing Jake as the new addition to the team. "I want you to mentor him, show him the ropes."

"Of course, Mr. White," Clark said smiling. He then looked at Jake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Jake. Welcome to the Daily Planet."

"Thanks, Clark," Jake nervously extended his hand, a bright smile forming on his face. "I've heard so much about you and your incredible reporting skills from Perry. I'm excited to learn from the best."

"Oh, don't let Perry exaggerate too much," Clark said humbly. "I'm happy to help you settle in. We have a fantastic team here."

As the days passed, Clark and Jake found themselves working together on various assignments. Their interactions were polite but slightly awkward, both unsure of how to break the ice. "Oh, hey, Clark!" Jake said returning the greeting before answering Clark's question. "Well, I've always been passionate about journalism and storytelling. I've had my fair share of writing and reporting experiences in college and other small publications, but the opportunity to work at the Daily Planet was too good to pass up. I've admired this newspaper for years, and being a part of it would be a dream come true".

"That's great to hear, Jake!" Clark said sincerely. "I can tell you have a genuine love for journalism. I've had my fair share of experiences too, covering stories in different parts of the world. It's been quite a journey, and I'm always eager to meet fellow journalists who share the same passion".

"Wow, Clark, that sounds amazing!" Jake answered with sincerity. "You must have seen and learned so much through your travels. It's inspiring to hear about your experiences. I hope to have similar opportunities to grow and learn in this field".

"Thanks, Jake," Clark said with a genuine smile. "I believe everyone has unique stories to tell, and it's incredible to connect with people who bring their own perspectives". "That sounds perfect, Jake," he said smiling. He then grabbed a napkin and a pen and wrote something on it and handed it to Jake. "Here's my number. Feel free to reach out whenever you want. I'm excited to have you as a friend and colleague".

"Thank you, Clark!" Jake said smiling and gave Clark his number as well by writing it on another napkin handing it to him. "Here's my number! I truly appreciate this opportunity, and I look forward to getting to know you better. Let's make some amazing memories together." With their newfound friendship established, Clark and Jake continue their journey at the Daily Planet, supporting each other and embarking on new adventures.
