Tails stood by a large tree freezing as he stood in the snow. He reached out to it with his glove and Slowly brushed his hand down the bark. "Cosmo.." He whispered quiet enough to where he could barely hear himself over the wind. The Tree's leaves had left and the bark showed no signs of life. He had grown rather Isolated from the others after her sacrifice and now that it was Christmas eve everyone decided to have a Christmas party at his workshop in an attempt to cheer him up. It was about time that everyone should start showing up. His hand trembled as he pulled it back. Almost as if it didn't want to leave the Tree. He felt a warm hand on his shoulder and stood paralyzed for a moment. He turned around and he saw nothing. He felt tears forming in his eyes and let them fall. He sat against the tree and wiped his eyes. "S-Sorry Cosmo.. I'll try to stop crying.." He whispered under his breath. "I.. I got a message from the others today.. Sonic wants to have everyone over at my workshop so we can have a sleepover for Christmas I guess... I think he's just trying to cheer me up though.. I.. I don't know how I feel.. I want to see the others again.. I want to have adventures again.. But I feel like.. I would only get in the way.. And.. I don't want anyone else to.. I.. I... " He was cut off by a ghostly voice that came from behind him. "You wouldn't get in the way.. Even if you did you would help more than you would hurt them.." Cosmo's Voice said. "But.. What if.. Someone gets hurt because of me?.. Or.. Worse?.." He asked hoping for an answer. "Then You'll be with them.. You can protect them.." She replied sounding a bit closer to her normal voice. He remained silent as he thought to himself. A slight breeze blew his fur to the side but he felt warmer. "Go Tails.. Live your life to the Fullest Like the Fox I loved.. And as the one I still Do.." Her voice trailed off into the wind and the tree behind him seemed to a bit more lively. He remained seated against the tree for bit and Cosmo didn't anything to him anymore. He barely felt the wind anymore and the snow seemed to glimmer even though the sun had already set. "C-Cosmo.. I... Can i really go back to them again?.. Can I really.. Love Again?.." He asked with his whole body now trembling from the cold although he couldn't feel it. "Tails.. That's up to you.." Her voice replied. He closed his eyes and thought for a few moments. He opened them and started "Cosmo.. I.." He trailed off as a singular leaf fell into his hand. "Tails.. Go and Take this leaf with you.. If you ever need my help hold it in your hand.. I will be there.." He hesitantly gripped it and replied "T-Thank You.. Cosmo.." He saw a ghostly figure of her appear sitting next to him and he hesitantly leaned over and hugged her tightly. He closed his eyes and he felt her hand brushing the built up snow off his fur. He felt warm and relaxed. "You should go now Tails... Don't keep our friends waiting.." He heard her say. She seemed to begin to fade. He let go of her hesitantly and watched her fading. He was momentarily paralyzed as she reached out to him and kissed him. His eyes widened and he tensed up slightly. She faded away completely and his senses returned. He could feel the cold and the snow landing on his fur. He held the leaf and looked at it. He nodded his head before he put it in a small pocket on the back of his left glove. He zipped it closed and he looked back at his workshop. He felt an odd warmth just by looking at it. He hesitantly stood up and the remaining snow on his fur fell off. He began to leave and looked back at the tree that had grown from Cosmo's seed. He looked to the side partially wanting to stay before he turned away.

Tails walked into his workshop and was surprised with a unexpected hug.
"Tails.. Thank goodness your okay.. You weren't here and I haven't seen you in weeks!.." He heard Cream saying as she held him in a hug. He hesitated and hugged her back. "It.. Really has been weeks.. Hasn't it?.." He replied remembering the last time they had actually talked. Her and Amy had visited about two months before and gave him a few baskets full of stuff to try and cheer him up. After that they where busy with adventures and other stuff. He was almost always invited but he wasn't exactly too sure in himself. He snapped out of his thoughts and glanced at the time. "Cream? You're nearly an hour early..." He pointed out. "I know.. I wanted to surprise you but you weren't here.." He hesitated before he slightly tightened his hug and replied "Thank you.." She was surprised at his response but felt it rather nice. Tails didn't want to let go of Cream feeling the warmth in her embrace and his Tails wrapped around her legs pulling her closer. Cream felt slightly embarrassed feeling his Tails wrapping around her legs but she was enjoying their embrace and didn't want to ruin the moment. She kept still and tightened her grip. A few minutes passed but it felt like hours. Eventually his Tails loosened up and he began to let go. She felt a cold chill as they broke apart and noticed Tails was still rather distant. "Hey.. Tails.." She started. "Y-Yeah what?.." He asked snapping out of his trance. "Look up.." He hesitantly followed her command and blushed as he saw what she was talking about. A singular piece of mistletoe was hanging on the ceiling above them. He looked back down at her who also wore a blush. "What are you?.." He started to ask slightly confused. She cut him off with a kiss and they both blushed more. He hesitantly kissed her back and a Ghostly figure outside the window smiled as she watched them. One of her vines had went in through the roof and held it over them. She turned away and slowly faded away as she floated back to the tree.
