Buu: "Did you really just make a pun?" The azure-dipped kitten whispered in a mildly irritated tone while holding open the spacing between two metal plates.
Ignoring the fact that the plates were several inches thick and constantly being monitored by sweeps of roaming scanners and cameras; Elyon slid under as she then followed him. His mischievous smirk contrasted her serious scowl well enough; the both of them used to the back and forth with every mission. Except this wasn't some snatch and grab. It was a rescue and saboteur type of case.
Elyon: "Come on, it was funny."
Buu: "It's corny and inappropriate."
Elyon: "Well, being worn down by worry until our hearts still won't help anyone.Plus, I like our chances."
Elyon had responded with a spot of sincerity, much to the mild relief of his crime compatriot. This building was more of a small fortress antithetical to the simple warehouses and small-time buildings they were used to destroying. Metal had spots like this all over the world, only being gained through a forceful exchange of workers and managers. The clientele left well enough alone so long as their needs were being met. Or more so their wants, since Metal made money the way Eggman did. Supply and demand. And nations were never short of any. It stood well out of the way of any prying eyes, but stuck well out enough due to it being a large dome with constant noise.
After watching the building for several days, the team had confirmed one of their lost pilots was taken to this area. The duo hovered just out of sight and scouted its armor for any noticeable chinks in it. Proper timing was necessary, but robots had many a thing to consider than with mammals.
Elyon: "No windows, one door, robotic guards, no smell, and auditory and visual sensors far-reaching in comparison to any mortal."
Buu: "Things we all planned for. I don't like the idea of being swarmed, but we should be able to get around incognito with these."
Buu hands Elyon a pulsing ball the size of a musket round, a blinking light washing over the both of them with a humming as continuous as a heartbeat.
Buu: "The range is short, so we'll have to keep close. It'll scramble them if we need to, but that'll give us away and the plan will need to be altered. Since they have no real eyes, the cameras will waver our bodies' sights, but not our heat. So let's move quickly and not get too close."
Elyon nodded and proceeded forward with caution, Buu trailing behind him as the ball cloaked the both of them... in theory. The corridor was constantly in motion, with bits and pieces being placed in a soundless rhythm. The items were crafted into rather rudimentary bronze-colored robots who were armed in a variety of weapons. They were Metal's basic versions of his army. Basically drones or fodder. Versatile and yet meager. No better than scrap in low numbers. They've been dubbed the Clangers. The conveyor floor they seemed to walk in on held only offline and incomplete models still in the works.
Elyon: "Not even worth the time to smash or sabotage, but could be useful later." He whispered while heading down the line to the stairs.
Buu: "You a tutorial NPC now? I know." She retorted and looked around, her sharp senses being rather vexed by the deep smell of rustic metal and low-quality oil. Nothing she isn't used to, but it was still an irritant to the feline's nostrils. The T-Shaped room was little more than a memory as they headed upstairs further, seeing the next phase of the construction as the robotics grew more in complexity with joint works and sensor placements. The room was open wide and tricky to traverse, since there are multiple loose tables and supplies aplenty with a heap full of blind robots. Elyon and Buu looked up at the ceiling instead, a bunch of rafters and loose chains hanging around. It was about ten meters high, with their balls range of three being in serious question. Maybe if they're quick enough, then it'll be no issue.
