"Kyle!!" came from down the hall. Kyle turned away from his locker. He saw Stanley standing next to him, and he smiled. "Oh, hey Stan!" Kyle remembered the last time Stan said his name like that. Stan was drunk in fourth grade. Stan didn't look drunk, though. It wasn't a faint memory for Kyle, considering Stan almost got shot several times. Stan didn't remember a thing, though. Stan waved his hand in front of Kyle's face, bringing him back to reality. "Kyle? You alright, dude?" Stan asked, genuinely sounding concerned. Kyle blinked a few times. "Oh, yeah, sorry," he murmured, looking back up at Stan with Kyle's emerald green eyes. Stan admired them for a few seconds and started, "So, my mom wanted to know if your family could come over for dinner or something. I forgot what she said completely," Stan said while shrugging. Kyle thought for a moment, "My family may not want to go, but I can." Stan smiled, "Okay dude! Cya after school!"

Kyle looked at the trees, tracing some of the areas of the street. He walked into his house and was greeted by his little brother, Ike. He smiled warmly at Ike.

"Wanna go to Stan's with me later?" Kyle asked while setting his bag down. Ike thought for a moment, "I don't like his older sister. She's mean." Kyle giggled. "You don't have to go," he said, with the slightest hint of giggling between a few words. "Then I don't want to go." Kyle looked at Ike, "No hug for your big brother?" Kyle asked. "Not today, I need to go to my friend's house to study," Ike announced like he was standing on a podium. "You never study?" Kyle smirked at the thought of Ike even trying to study. "Whatever," Kyle said, walking past Ike to go put on better clothes than the usual.

Kyle took off his hat to reveal his curls. He thought he needed to cut his hair for a while but never told any of his family to schedule something. He put his hat on his bed and stared at himself in the mirror for a solid minute. He took off his coat and his gloves to reveal a plain black t-shirt. He kept his jeans on and just put on a normal jacket. He sighed. Kyle hated his hair, and generally, his body shape. He was born a female, but after his surgery, his dysphoria couldn't help but just punch him in the gut. No one knew. Just his family and a few lifelong friends, just like Stan. But, Stan always accepted Kyle, and they both knew that they were gonna be "super best friends" their whole lives.

When Kyle walked to Stan's house by himself, he was looking at the concrete to find what he and Stan did when they were in second grade while the cement was still wet. He found it, and he laughed quietly as he saw the Terrance and Phillip drawing they did in the cement. That's how he knew that there were only a few more yards to get to Stan's house.

As soon as Kyle got into Stan's house, Shelly yelled from the kitchen, "Turd! You're so gross!" Kyle raised an eyebrow, confusion plastered on his face. "I didn't clean the plates, I don't understand why she's so upset about it," Stan said, with a slight shrug. "Oh, you didn't wear your hat," Stan remarked while ruffling Kyles' curls. Kyle laughed quietly, and Stan pulled him upstairs into his room. "So, how's your day been?" Stan asked while setting up his t.v for them to watch something. Kyle sat for a second, "Uh... I guess it's been good. Depends on which part of the day," Kyle answered. Kyle scooted back until his back hit the wall. Stan plopped on the bed after finally finding the correct remote for the t.v. "Hey, Stan?" Kyle said, with a slightly gloomy voice. "Yeah, Kyle?" Stan replied. "You would never tell anyone about my secret... right?" Kyle murmured as his eyes started to well with tears. "Kyle, how many times do I need to tell you? I'm not gonna tell anyone that." Stan crawled to Kyle so they could sit together. "Your secret is safe with me, Kyle." Kyle smiled at Stanley and laid his head on Stan's shoulder.

30 minutes later, dinner was ready, and Sharon called up to them. They raced downstairs, and Stan slipped after Kyle got to the table. "Ha!" Kyle yelled with a goofy smile on his face. Stan looked at him after getting up, and he laughed too, his face slowly glowing red from Kyle. "He's so cute," Stan thought. Stan walked over to Kyle and sat next to him. "I won!" Kyle said in Stan's face while they both cracked up laughing. Sharon gave them each a bowl of spaghetti, knowing that Kyle is diabetic. They couldn't have what they initially wanted... breakfast for dinner. Which Stan was completely fine with. They ate the food quickly, wanting to go back upstairs and continue playing their game.

After they were done, Stan dragged Kyle up the stairs and into his room again. When they got in there, Kyle did something that shocked Stan. He hugged Stan, tightly. "Are you alright, dude?" Stan murmured, hugging Kyle back. Kyle stayed silent for a second, "I... I'm fine," he managed to get out with a steady tone. He didn't feel "fine". He didn't know what he was feeling. He was just glad to be with Stan. It made him feel some sort of comfort.
