             "Where are you?"

Hazel has known Peter for what feels like her whole life, well since she was 6. She's always known Peter as some shy cold-hearted guy who seemed to only have a soft spot for her and Aunt May.

Of course, this made every single one of their friends tell them both that they were the "perfect match". Of course, they both denied it every time, a slight blush rising to their cheeks.

Hazel never thought they had potential to be together, until a deal was made between the two.

I mean we all have that one friend that's attractive but we would never get with them, right? At Least that's sort of what Hazel told herself from age eight to twelve.

She liked Peter, like liked Peter for a while. Those feelings were slowly crushed in the seventh grade when Peter kept mentioning this girl he liked so much, however he complained about not being able to tell her about his feelings, and apparently this broke the young boy's heart.

Since then, Hazel has protected her peace. Locked up her swollen heart, and swore she wouldn't give anyone the key unless she knew destiny brought them together.

Both Age 12 - Seventh Grade

The cool air rested upon them, Hazel and Peter both lay in the grass after p.e was over.

"So, you excited for highschool after eighth grade?" Hazel said, breaking the silence.

"I don't know, I mean sure I guess, it's all a little weird stepping into a new school all so soon," Peter replied softly, shifting his body to the side to look at Hazel.

Hazel, doing the same, stared into his brown eyes for a second. Peter focused his attention from the grass to her eyes, those Hazel eyes always had everyone staring.

Hazel finally replied, "Well, I couldn't be more excited, think of it, new people! Not saying I would EVER leave you Parker but, you know. I would like to meet a guy, someone who would treat me well..." Hazel shifted back to look at the sky, Peter staying in his position.

"Hm, I guess I just don't believe in love," Peter thought, why would she need to find a guy? For some reason those words pulled on his heartstrings, he chose to ignore it but he still thinks about it today.

"Is that so? Now you're just being stupid. You'll find someone one day Peter, someone who treats you well too." Hazel ended the conversation with this. Standing up, holding her hand out for Peter to grab. It was time to get back to class.

High School is here, and the two are still closer than ever. Living on the same street helped, as they never grew apart.

"New year, new me," Hazel whispered to herself as she walked into West Beverly High School next to Peter.
