Exercise is very important for any dog, especially a Border Collie! Border Collie's are bred to be sheepdogs, so they have tons of speed, stamina, agility and energy!
Try and make sure that the dog gets out as often as possible, even if he/she's just a puppy, let him/her out in the garden to play! Walk the puppy/dog as often as possible, and take him/her out running as well!
If possible, could you manage to let your dog/puppy of the lead in fields or parks? This allows him/her to really stretch his/her legs. You can play fetch, football, tug O war, anything! All you have to do is make sure you don't have any chance of your dog/puppy running away!
To make sure your puppy/dog doesn't run away, you have to:
1. Let your puppy/dog off on a regular basis.
2. Make sure you start letting him/her off at an early age, so that he/she gets used to it.
Really hope this was Helpful! :) If you have any more questions about this subject, please don't hesitate to ask!
