(Cayden's PoV)
I'm in room 129.
The doctor left to go get something.
I don't know what it is, but it doesn't sound like it'll be painless.
That emo man is in the room with me.
"Why are you here?" I asked him.
"Because I can't be with Aria" Aizawa replied, keeping a straight face. "Is she as accident prone in your universe as she is here?"
"I would say no? I mean, she's kinda a crackhead, but so are all of our friends"
"Okay, that makes sense now"
"Is she like, your child? Or am I just not thinking straight?"
"I am her legal guardian. For now, at least"
"I knew it" I whispered to myself. "So what's your name?"
"Aizawa"
"I'm Cayden"
"What's your last name?"
"______"
"American?"
"Yeah, we both live in the USA. Illinois?"
"Yeah, that's still a thing"
"Why wouldn't it be?"
The door opened and the doctor walked back in.
"Alrighty, Cayden, you ready to pop that elbow back into place?"
"No"
"Well, too bad"
He walked towards me, grabbing my arm.
He messed around with it for a while, wiggling it.
He grabbed my elbow a certain way that made it hurt, I tried not to scream.
"FUUUUUCK"
"Language"
Then it was over.
"There we go! Try moving it"
I moved it, shocked at how easy that was.
"What the hell? Is this witchcraft?" I asked.
"Modern medine" Aizawa said. "Also, language"
"Oh yeah" I remembered. "How's Aria?"
"Who?" The doctor asked.
"Aria ______?"
"I can check and see with her doctors?"
"Okay"
"Are you a relative to her?"
"No, but he is" I pointed to Aizawa.
"Are you her father?"
"Legal guardian, yes"
"I'll check, you can stay here"
He left again.
"Do you think she's okay?" I asked.
"She'll pull through. She always does"
"What do you mean?"
"She's been in and out of the hospital here too, she didn't tell you?"
"No"
"Yeah, she got stabbed not to long ago. Then we figured out she was immortal after she survived getting her throat slashed. That wasn't fun for me"
"You?"
"She comes to me for everything"
"Why?"
"I was her teacher and now I'm her legal guardian, remember?"
"She didn't tell me that shit either"
"Language"
"What is your thing with Language?"
"You're children, you don't need to be swearing like adults"
"But we swear all the time in our universe?"
The doctor walked back in, he wasn't smiling anymore.
He motioned for Aizawa to follow him.
They went into the other corner of the room.
I could clearly make out what they were saying.
"Is she alright?" Aizawa asked.
"They don't know yet" the doctor said.
"Is she stable?"
"Not yet. She's in pretty bad condition"
"What will happen to her?"
"We'll have to assess the damages, then we do surgery. And we'll have to do tests to figure out the damage"
"And will she survive?"
"Chances are unlikely"
"What's her quirk? We never got to ask questions"
"We don't know yet. We think she may be immortal"
"Did you adopt her?"
"Yes, I did, but they had no records on her"
"Did she grow up here?"
"No, she was born and raised in the US. But she came from another universe"
"How is that possible?"
"We don't know"
"We'll need your phone number to contact you on her condition"
" ___-___-____"
"Thank you. We'll update you whenever we get anything"
"Thank you"
The doctor left.
"Come on" Aizawa said.
"I heard your entire conversation, you really need to work on your whispering"
"Not you too!"
"What?"
"You both eavesdrop"
"Yeah, that's normal human nature to be curious"
"Whatever you say"
"So where are we going?"
"To my house?"
"Are you kidnapping me?"
"You ask a lot more questions than Aria does. And no, I'm not kidnapping you. I'm taking you to my house so you don't have to sleep on the streets"
"I don't sleep"
"Are you hungry?"
"No"
"Alright, then you get to stay up on your phone all night while I start making calls"
"To who? Your wife?"
"My boyfriend?"
"Gay?"
"Yeah?"
"No wonder you and Aria get along so well!"
"What the hell?"
"Language!"
