Hazel & Avery

Chapter 1

A/N: Welcome to the project i've been working on! i've been writing this for a while now and it's almost done. i decided to finally post the first chapter!

i've worked long and hard on this so i hope y'all enjoy!

I hear my alarm blasting its annoying tone, loud, waking me up in a panic. I roll over to my phone to shut it off, looking at the time, 6:30am. Then I threw my phone back on my bed side table and rolled back on my back and let out a huge sigh.

I slowly sat up trying to process being awake, as I do that I start stretching every muscle in my body. I threw off my covers and slowly slid out of bed, picking up my phone and, slowly started walking out of my bed room to the bathroom. Doing my normal school morning routine.

As I brushed my teeth I looked at my phone, once more to see no notifications. I then opened it to check Instagram and found people posting about their night before. As I flip threw the stories I see that everyone was at a party. 'who goes to a party on a school night?' I thought to myself as today is Monday.

Then I stumbled upon Avery's story. Watching a video of her doing shots with some other classmates, I then closed my phone and put it down. Took out my toothbrush from my mouth and spat the toothpaste down the sink, continuing my morning routine.

I walked out of the bathroom with my phone throwing in on my bed as I closed my door. I then found an outfit for today, a par of high waisted black jeans, a black crop top and a blue flannel. Then I went to my back pack packed all the needed things and headed downstairs.

I was greeted by my mother putting in her shoes and heading out the door going to work. I went to the pantry looking for something to eat on the bus ride to school, so I did just that.

I looked at my phone 7:30am. I when on my phone again looking threw all the stories for a second time trying to figure out why there was a party and see if it was even important to think about.

I walked off the bus and headed into school. Sitting at my normal spot and I was agreed by my friend, Maya. "Hey" she said with a smile watching me as I walk over took off my bag and dropped in next to me then sat next to her. I smiled as a response then let out a quiet sigh.

She looked at me confused and asked "come on what's the matter" I looked at her with my sleepless eyes "I'm tired and I don't wanna be here." she looked straight at me knowing that wasn't the only issue "come on Hazel" I took out my phone from my pocket and showed her Avery's story. "Avery again?" She asked with disappointment in her eyes.

"You do remember you were the one that stopped being friends with her" "why does that matter?" "It matters because ever since you guys stopped being friends you've been in a dump ever since" she said playfully pushing my shoulder. I sighed, she's right. I know it's silly that I should just ignore her and move on, and forget what she did to me.

But I guess it still hurts, I was friends with her for 10 years and all of that disappeared that day. I cant get that day out of my head and it's been a few years. Whenever I see her I remember the good things we've been threw you know all those childhood memories, all gone and wasted over a stupid night. The worst night of my life.

Maya snapped her fingers getting me out of my thoughts "earth to hazel" she said with a laugh and a playful tone. I shock my head. "Yea you're right" "I mean I get it, I was friends with her too, we were an unstoppable trio. But you gotta get her out of your head, she's an asshole" I nodded with a small smile, and checked the time "I gotta go to my locker before class starts" I said getting up throwing my bag over my shoulder. "see you around" I said with a smile, she nodded at me was a response, I turned around heading to my locker.
