Ran struggled to find his keys as he neared his front door. He has been having awful days ever since he stopped helping out Sanzu. Rindou kept telling him he would see him on the weekends but that wasn't enough for Ran. He was a wreck without Sanzu. He can barely sleep and he drifts off in class, which he feels so bad for because Rindou wanted to become a dancer or a gymnast, Ran can't remember, but instead he took over the family business so Ran could become a doctor which he sure as hell wasn't doing if he dozed off in class one more time. The bi-color haired man shoved the key in the keyhole and sleepily opened the door yelling a tired "I'm home" until he saw Sanzu laying on the couch bruised and bleeding and his little brother sitting beside him.
"What happened? When did he get here?" Ran asked.
"Well Mucho and Nahoya brought him over and I thought it wasn't very serious but he's been unconscious for a long time now." Rindou answered.
Ran got on the floor by Sanzu's side and automatically checked his pulse. Luckily, he seemed to be breathing fine, not great, but fine. The male quickly cleaned up all the boy's wounds and bandaged them. Then, he slapped his brother as hard as he could in the back of the head.
"OW! WHAT THE F*CK RAN!?" Rindou snapped and winced in pain, rubbing the back of his head.
"You just sat there looking at his open wounds and didn't do anything. And I don't even wanna hear that 'yOu'Re tHe dOcTor' shit. You aren't retarded, you can help a boy who's got bruises and wounds, it's not hard." Ran retorted.
"Yeah, whatever. You know, I don't even like this guy so you're lucky I didn't just tell Mucho and Nahoya to leave him wherever." Rindou mumbled, turning away to leave.
"What do you mean?" Ran then grabbed his brother's arm. "Why don't you like him? You seemed fine with him the night I brought him over."
Rindou let out a sigh. "When you brought up his scars and it caused him to run out, you got really upset and didn't sleep the entire night, worrying you hurt him. And don't think I don't know about you dozing off in class because you can't sleep during the night." He paused but Ran stayed silent. "I know you love him but he's tearing you apart."
Rindou then walked out of the room, leaving his brother dumbfounded. Usually Ran was the one yelling at Rindou for things like this. He couldn't believe he just got a lecture from his younger brother. Though he couldn't help but smile, knowing that the younger was finally growing up and making good decisions. He then sat down next to Sanzu and just stared at him until he saw the pink head start to open his eyes a bit.
"You're awake!" Ran exclaimed, standing up.
"What happened...? Why am I here?-" Sanzu spoke, then winced at the pain he felt in his body.
"You got beat up so some of my friends brought you here. I can take you home now if you want. Your brother massaged me yesterday, he said you're doing much better in school." Ran said with a smile.
"Yeah well.... I was thinking of dropping out....-" Sanzu began saying until he looked at Ran who looked like a father after being told his son was dropping out.
"You can't drop out of school Haruchiyo, there isn't even much left in this year and you're bringing your grades up, I don't even understand what could've gotten this idea in your head." Ran yelled, sounding a lot like Sanzu's older brother.
"Well when I'm smart I get beaten up and teased even more. I'd rather just drop out, I don't need to live with Takeomi, I can gamble my way into a house."
"No. I refuse to let you drop out of school."
"The hell are you talking about? You aren't my brother or my father, you have no vote on what I'm doing."
"But I am your friend and I know what's best for you-"
"No you don't! I just freakin met you! You mean nothing to me!"
"Dammit Sanzu, this is probably why everyone leaves you! I tear myself apart just thinking about you and when the people that love you try to help, you push them away."
Sanzu didn't need to hear another word or say one, he got up and angrily ran for the door.
"And ya know what?! I hope you drop out and end up homeless without love, it's what you deserve, maybe then you'll learn." Ran shouted as Sanzu left running home, crying.
Takeomi ran over to Sanzu worried when he saw him run inside upset. "What's wrong? Where are the Haitani's? Are you okay?" He pulled his younger brother into a hug.
"Leave me be." Sanzu demanded, shoving his brother off. "Fire Ran from helping me out, I'm dropping out of school, yell at me if you want."
"What?! You can't drop out of school-"
"I can and I will. I'm moving out as well."
"You have nowhere else to go-"
Sanzu ran upstairs and packed up a suitcase full of stuff. He then called Kokonoi to see if he could stay with him and his sister. He obviously said yes and had his sister drive to pick him up. Once she got there, Takeomi talked to her for a minute, tears in his eyes, and Sanzu tossed his stuff in the back and climbed into the passenger seat.
"Haruchiyo, are you sure about this?" Kokonoi's older sister, Tiffany asked while they were driving.
"Yes, I'm sure." He responded coldly.
