Based on the Little Mermaid, but set in 80s time.
Scenario 1:
You/crush is a surfer. The big surf competition had just begun and you/crush were riding a gnarly wave. A storm was brewing and you/crush had no time to get to safety, so you/crush crash with the wave, hitting your/their head on a rock. You/crush blacks out, but then wakes up to the sound of someone singing. You/they have no idea who it was and you talk to your friends about them.
