Lord Enma; 'Workplace Escape'

Lord Enma was staring down at one of many piles of important documents on his desk. His eye slightly twitched. Being one of the highest-ranking politicians in the yo-kai world means lots of paperwork. But today is just a little too much...

He twirled a pen between his fingers. Probably for comfort before he goes through hours of torture. Taking a deep breath as he grabbed a stack of papers, clicked the pen, and finally sat down in his chair. If he does all of this today, that means there will be less tomorrow.

Until a familiar, long sigh interrupted his train of thought.

Yeah, work can wait.

He got up and walked out of his office to see you with your hands over your face. He chuckled before walking up to you. Well, getting behind you. You couldn't hear his footsteps as you were too busy being mad at the universe.

Lord Enma had a mischievous smirk on his face. He put his hand on your shoulder. "Hello, [Your Yo-kai Name]." You let out a loud shriek. You turned your head to the person who scared you, raising the folder over your head to smack them. Only to find Lord Enma with his hands up in the air as mercy. But his face betrays him. If looks could kill, you would be a murderer.

"Lord Enma! Why would you do that?! I could've had a heart attack!" You said after catching a breath. Lord Emna had a fit of laughter, "I'm so sorry [Your Yo-kai Name], but there was an opportunity and I just had to take it! And plus, you're still alive." He said as he composed himself. You continued to glare at him.

"Also, there is no need for the formalities, we're friends. Are we not?" You looked around again, "I know Enma, I just don't want Zazel to lecture my ear again..." You grimaced at the memories. Lord Enma wore a sympathetic smile, "I know what you mean." But his face soon changed into one of concern. "[Your Yo-kai Name], I noticed that you have been stressed recently. Is something on your mind?"

Ever since you met Lord Enma, he soon felt like another brother to you. Always trying to make you feel more comfortable with your environment ever since you became the secretary for the both of them. You never really agreed to be one, but you never complained either. It was easy work, but it gets annoying as it piles up. But at the end of the day, Zazel is there with you to make you feel better from work.

You sighed and turned to face Lord Enma, "It's nothing, really! It's just... I just want a break from work... maybe go outside and explore a little. Hell, even go to the human world!" You laughed a bit from your joke, but your friend was processing your words. "But, uh, Zazel won't let me..." You scratched the back of your neck. Lord Enma was just staring blankly at you. You were lying if you said you weren't nervous. Did you say something wrong?

Suddenly, Lord Enma let out a laugh. "Is that what you wanted? You could've asked me ages ago!" He patted your back.

Oh, so you weren't going to die. You looked at him confused, "What do you mean, Enma? I don't understand..?" He looked around carefully, then he grabbed your hand. "It... might not be best to say it out in the open. Let's go to my office instead."

When the both of you reached the office, he turned towards you with a slightly nervous expression. "Okay, so you know how I would frequently have business trips from time to time?" You nodded, still retaining a face full of confusion. "Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?" He sweatdropped, "Well... what if it wasn't because for business purposes, but for me to avoid work. ...And to see the human world..?" His eyes darted to somewhere else, while yours widened. Along with your mouth being slightly agape.

"...you WHAT?" You shouted. He immediately went up to you and cupped your mouth. "Shh! Not so loud!" he said with a somewhat worried tone. You pulled his hand away, "Enma, this is bad. Really bad. You could get in trouble!" You whisper-yelled. Lord Enma dismissed you with his hand. Although, his face still showed that he was still nervous. "Nonsense! What's the worse that could possibly happen?" You looked at him dead in the eye, "Zazel. Zazel can happen." He scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah... but he has never caught me once!" He said with a smile. He went ahead and ruffled your head, "C'mon [Your Yo-kai Name]! We'll be fine! I promise." You looked away for a moment, 'A chance to see the human world... Should I take it? But Zazel will get upset...' You looked back to see Lord Enma with a small smile etched on his face. Hoping that you would say yes.
