We get back to the house and Sam and Kat are stood awkwardly at the door. Sam stays put and Katrina comes and opens the door for me.
"I've missed you so much" she says hugging me
I feel her breath start going heavy so I pull away, I look at her and she's crying.
"Cmon let's go inside and talk" I say to her
Colby walks in next to me and puts his arm across my lower back I jump a little and he pulls away
"I'm sorry" we say at the same time
"No need to apologise" I say back "it's not your fault"
Me and Kat walk out into the garden and sit down at the outside bar
"Tell me everything you want and need to, I'm here to listen" I start
"I guess you wanna know why first" She sighs deeply
I don't say anything I just nod
"We decided to go our different ways because we both have very different lives, He's out exploring the world with Colby doing ghost hunts as well as keeping an eye on Colby because of his cancer" She practically breaks down trying to finish the story
"Take your time don't break yourself down trying to tell me" I say standing up to hug her
I pull away and sit back down. I can see how hurt she is but I haven't managed to check on Sam yet but I know Colby will be right by his side.
"I'm focusing on my music and we both decided to focus on our careers separately" she finishes
"But you're both always gonna be best friends no matter what because you both love each other deeply" I say getting emotional
"Please don't cry your gonna set me off again" She laughs
"I'm trying not to but this took me by surprise" I say giggling back
"You're happy with Colby and I'm heartbroken the roles have reversed" she jokes
"Wouldn't say happy just yet but we're getting there" I laugh
We laugh it off and go back inside, Colby is sat in the kitchen with Sam, I go over to Sam and give him a hug. He hugs me back tighter then he ever has before like he needed it.
