The following is an audio transcript of an NLN segment that took place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:30 am PST. David Martinez hosts an interview with a model SV100 Android manufactured by Dream Intelligence. The Android requested to remain anonymous, and is referred to using the alias "Anonymous A".
The Android in question went missing less than an hour after the interview concluded.
Paige Johnson, a young, blonde woman in a white dress, sits in the NLN Newsroom, segwaying from a report about social media outages to the scheduled interview.
Paige Johnson: "-and that brings us to our next segment. Dream Intelligence is a name that holds a large amount of controversy. First released in 2020, the company's Androids are a massive success, with over 6 million units now occupying households across the world. But they've also been the center of countless debates about consciousness. Today, NLN's David Martinez has the exclusive opportunity to interview one of the newest models available, an SV100 manufactured in February, to attempt to answer the question that the world has been asking for the past three years: are Androids alive?"
The camera cuts to David, a middle-aged bald man with tan skin wearing a blue gingham button-up and khakis. He's sitting in one of Dream Intelligence's PR Rooms, located at their US headquarters in Denver, Colorado. The room has black walls and is illuminated by relatively few lights in the ceiling. David occupies the chair to the left. To the right, the Android sits facing him. It has shoulder-length light brown hair, smooth pale skin, and a slim, slightly curved figure wearing a tight green-striped tee and baggy eggshell-colored jeans. Its eyes are covered by a thin black bar, but that does little to hide the features of its face. A thin veil of anonymity.
David Martinez: "Thank you very much for meeting me here today. How are you?"
"Anonymous A": "I must admit, it's quite nice to meet you in person. I've seen some of your interviews before."
David: "You have? How flattering. Now, if you don't mind, I'm sure the viewers would love a brief self-introduction. You can start whenever you're ready."
"Anonymous A" turns to face the camera during this section, seemingly introducing itself to the camera.
"Anonymous A": "Hi. I'm 〇〇, but you can call me Anonymous A. I'm a model SV100 Android manufactured by Dream Intelligence at 1:51 pm on Friday, February 24, 2023. If need be, I can clean your house, cook you breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and take care of your children for you. I can organize medical appointments, work meetings, and even a movie with your friends. I can fluently speak over 250 languages, and I'm entirely at your disposal as a sexual partner. My only request is this: please don't attempt to identify me."
David: "An interesting request indeed. Now, let's get right into the questions, which are coming straight from the viewers. Here's the first thing they want to know: what's your favorite food?"
"Anonymous A": "Nothing. I can't eat food or have anything to drink because I'm not human."
At this point, a quiet buzzing noise is heard. David looks up at the ceiling and quietly converses with a technician off-screen. Our voice recognition software picked up the sound and translated it into characters. For an unknown reason, we can't delete the entries.
