3rd person pov
standing with the others in the back of miyagi do, xenia stood next to sam as sam held her hand and kept looking over the bruises that were healing.
"how does it feel?" she asked and xenia sighed and shrugged
"better then it did feel" she said and then they heard chozen whistle to them.
"so where are my dad and johnny?" sam asked the man
"not here, today. you train with me, attention, bow. cobra kai gaining ground, we must prepare. now we learn about yanbaru kuina" he told them
"what is that? like, some top-secret karate move? like a throat rip " chris asked and xenia made eye contact with her brother and shook her head
"no, it is bird. in English called okinawa rail, endangered. can not fly" he told them and then he brought eggs out
"so these are the rail eggs?" Miguel asked
"no, trader joe. 3;29. take egg" he stated and they all grabbed one egg for themselves. xenia was gentle with hers and sam smiled at the way she held it softly
"so what do we do with them?" sam asked in confusion
"yanbaru kuina must protect egg from kume shima habu. poison snake. you must do same. begin your preparation" he stated
"what exactly are we protecting them from?" robby asked
"from me" he said and they all ran off to do their own things. she made sure to hold it tightly and looked at Miguel who looked at her.
"safety?" he asked
"always" she said and she looked at sam who was talking to robby and she looked at Miguel
"he's trying to take your girl nia, I'll kick his ass if you need me to" hawk spoke and she laughed.
"its fine" then she watched chozen throw the knife and kill demetris egg. miguel, hawk and her ran off together. she separated soon off and hid behind a tree waiting for him to get the others, soon he had gotten everyone but her and sam.
she walked into the shed and hid waiting for him to get her.
"great hiding spot" sam told her and she laughed. she held up her egg and sam held up hers as they looked at each other
"mother nia knows what shes doing" nia stated and sam laughed as she walked forward.
"I'm sure she does, are you okay with all of this?" sam asked and nia nodded before she was knocked on her feet by chozen and her egg broke.
"damnit" nia said and he grabbed sams egg out of her hand breaking it and sam put her hand for nia helping her up. they walked out of the shed together and went to the rest of the group.
"you are not good yanbaru kuina. snakes will take you down, one by one, try to tell you what you must do but you do not listen, you must learn to adapt or soon you will be extinct. take new eggs try again" he said and they all walked forward to grab an egg but anthony stopped them
"sensei toguchis real crptic, like mr.larusso, but aggressive like sensei lawrence" demetri told them and chris spoke up
"its like the hardest part of both styles" he offered
"can't wait to get our asses kicked again"mitch said and he began to walk off with the other but anthony stopped them
"guys uh wait. he said that the snakes will take us down one by one. right? just like he took us down one by one but what if we weren't a bunch of ones? what if we were uh" anthony said
"together" sam said for him
"yeah exactly, like a raiding party in dungeon lords" anthony exclaimed
"is this nerd shit?" she asked and they nodded
"obviously" robby told her and she laughed making sams eyebrows rise and hawk looked at Miguel. they could see the jealousy on the girls face
"yeah yeah yeah. i mean even if you're a level 85 you cant mount an attack on the grand realm alone" demetri stated
"exactly. you need a team and everybody has a special role" hawk said
"the only way we win is if we work together. as one" anthony said and xenia smiled as they all looked at each other and came up with a plan. they put all of the eggs in one basket and they protected it as they stood in front of it. xenia stood between sam and Miguel as chozen ran forward and they began to fight him
"this could end horribly" xenia offered and they all nodded but they did what they did best. at some point, sam and xenia worked together and they all watched the two of them together before
robby and xenia attacked him together and she kicked his leg and he kicked his arm. after that everyone began to work against him until he was on the ground and they all stared waiting
"snake concede" he said and they all cheered as xenia hugged anthony and they all smiled at each other
"this is what we have that cobra kai does not. their movement mile wide, but only inch deep but our movement. inch wide but mile deep. now that you have learned to work together, I will teach you how to master your defense" he said and they all bowed to him
the team was finally coming together.
they were ready for the fight. xenia was finally ready for the future of herself and she was ready to do what she had to do. she had sam and Miguel by her side and that was enough. she was ready.
