Keita Amano; 'Secret Discovered'

Crap, crap, crap! I forgot about the study thing! I hope I can make it in time...
I need to get there early to investigate Keita! Sure, it's a quick thought plan, but it's the best I got! I gotta hurry!!

Ding dong

The door opened, Keita's mom was in front of me. "[Your Name]? What are you doing here?" Mrs. Amano said. I was winded, " I'm here..."

you took a big gulp of breath

"... for Keita..." My lungs are damaged with how fast I ran to get here.

"Ah, well then come in. I'll go get you a drink, Keita is just upstairs in his room." Mrs. Amano left for the kitchen while I went to the living room to catch my breath. Eventually, I felt better and walked upstairs to Keita's room. It's time to finally settle this mystery once and for all.

Upon reaching his door I could hear talking. I put my ear closer to the door, "Who's that one, Whisper?" Whisper? Who's Whisper? And what was he talking about? 'Who's that one?'
I backed up a bit. I think this is the part where Keita would talk to himself. Okay, so he talks to someone named Whisper? It doesn't sound like he's in trouble-

"[Your Name]? Your drink is ready." I forgot about Mrs. Amano! Man, today is just not my day...

I quickly went downstairs, hoping that Keita doesn't hear me. I went up to Mrs. Amano and grabbed the glass from her hand.

'Hm, lemonade.'

I sat down and hurriedly drank it and ran back up the stairs.

I put my ear on the door again, "Well, I'd better get back to cleaning!"
I inched closer... "Hm? What's this long hair?"
I leaned a bit on the door. "Long, brown hair... Ah! Could it be Fumi's-"

"AHHH!!"

The door swung open and I fell face-first on the floor. Should've checked if the door was locked.

➤ No One's Point of View

"[Your Name]!?" Keita hurriedly went to their side and tried to lift them up. He led them to his bed "Are you okay? And what were you doing outside of my room? The study session doesn't start until an hour or so." Worry was evident on his face.
"I... uh..." [Your name] couldn't make up an excuse. Guess it's time to reveal their intentions to Keita.

They sighed, "Okay Keita, I have something to ask from you." He looked at them questionably. "Okay...?" They looked at him intensely, "But you have to tell me the truth. And the truth only." Keita nodded. [Your Name] took one last breath, "Keita... can you see things that I can't see? That no one else can see?" Keita froze. His posture had stiffened. [Your Name] saw and took that as a chance that they were right. "I would hear you talk to yourself sometimes. But... you're not, are you? I heard you earlier talking to this 'Whisper' guy." Keita darted his eyes elsewhere. How was he going to react to this?! To his own secret being blabbed out!

"Keita..." he snapped his attention onto their friend. His eyes widen at the sight, they looked like they were going to cry. "Keita, I don't know what's happening with you. And I'm scared because of that. I don't know if you put yourself in danger or if the invisible beings hurt you." [Your Name] held their breath as they didn't want to cry in front of their friend. Keita immediately hugged his upset friend. He patted their head and rubbed their back in hopes that it would soothe them.

"No [Your Name], I'm not in any type of danger." They put their head on his shoulder. "I'm okay, I'm safe." Their breathing slowed as they calmed down. Keita had an intense look on his face as he thought. But he knew what to do.

"Actually, I'll show you something right now." Keita pulled up [Your Name] off the bed. He dragged them to his balcony window, "Keita what are you doing?" He unclipped his watch off his wrist and put it onto [Your Name]'s. Their eyes widen. 'So the watch was important after all.' They thought. "Alright, pay attention. Okay?" Keita pressed a button on the watch to shine a light. [Your Name]'s eyes widen at what they saw.

A weird, marshmallow-shaped ghost, and a red, two-tailed cat came into their view as Keita shined the light. "What- What are they?" Keita walked near them, "They are yo-kai. Yo-kai are the invisible beings I've been talking to." [Your Name] is still in shock with this new information. The strange ghost began to speak, "Hello Mx. [Your Name] I am Whisper. Keita's yo-kai butler. Rest assured that he's safe under my care." He finished off with a bow. The red cat jumped up to speak also, "My name's Jibanyan! And if anybody's gonna hurt Keita, they gotta go through me first!" He proceeded to make many punches in the air to indicate his protection. [Your Name] turned their head in Keita's direction. Mouth agape. "Yo-kai are our friends, [Your Name]. But some of them like to cause trouble for humans, so I try my best to solve it with the ones I already befriended." They changed their gaze onto the watch.

"But what about the..."

"Watch? Apparently, it's the bridge between humans and yo-kai. It helps you see yo-kai and summon them." They looked at the watch in awe, while Keita gave his signature goofy smile. But his face soon changed into a serious one.

"[Your Name]" They turned their head back onto Keita. "You have to promise me, you have to swear on your life that you will never tell a soul about the existence of yo-kai." [Your Name] thought intensely, it honestly made Keita sweat a little. But eventually...

[Your Name] raised their hand. "I promise and swear on my life that I'll never tell anyone about yo-kai" They gave him a sincere smile. Keita had a grin form on his face, and rushed to hug his friend.

His secret had been discovered, but at least someone close knows the existence of yo-kai like him.
