Kuma and Kanchi tried to 'have a new style' but it was really weird, Fumi kept on pretending that she didn't know anything when she caused some accidents, and she also got really serious when the boys lost their soccer match to the 5-1 class. And that's only the less strange behavior... I think.

But I believe that Keita notices the weirdness too; I would sometimes catch him talking to himself? And doing something with his watch.

Speaking of his watch, why does he always change it? When 5th grade started, I remember his watch was mostly white and had a weird capsule on top. But now, this is his 4th watch! That is too many watches for an average kid! And why is the face so oddly big? He and that watch are connected somehow, I just know it.

I'll crack open this mystery no matter what.

08:10 AM.

Around this time, everyone should be in the classroom. As the teacher gets here around 8:20.

This is also around the time that Keita arrives.

I moved my head to check my surroundings. Every other student is talking to one another, plus they usually don't chat with him much. My eyes landed on our best friends. Kanchi Imada and Kumashima Gorota, or Kuma for short. Seems like they are busy conversing as well. Good. Without anyone in the way, I should be able to speak with Keita alone.

And right on cue, he arrived at the door. I need to approach him carefully to find the truth. So, I already thought of a plan.

"Keita!" I yelled.
"[Your Name]?" Keita said as he walked to where I am. "Keita, could I come over to your house? I think that we're gonna receive a lot of homework for today's lesson, so I thought we can help each other with it!"
He took a moment to think, "Hmm... Okay. We can work on it together!" But I got the answer I wanted!

I checked my surroundings again. I saw that Kuma and Kanchi were still occupied with talking to each other, but they could be a potential obstacle to my plan if they heard us. This can only go in two ways. Either they pass it up or they join in. If those two join us it'll be harder to find the truth-

Wait...

Footsteps are approaching the classroom...

...and they're getting closer to us..!

"Hey, guys!"

Oh no... It's..!

"F-Fumi! What are you doing over here?" Keita said. I immediately looked at his face, it was beet red.

...My plan is doomed.

It was Keita's crush. Fumika Kodama, or Fumi for short. I forgot about her! The boy is hopelessly in love with her! He'll do anything to get her attention!

"Well, I heard that [Your Name] was going to your house for homework. Could you possibly invite one more person?" After Fumi finished her sentence, her face showed puppy eyes! Keita was looking pretty dazed. There are no holes in this one to get him to reject Fumi's offer, of course, he was going to say yes!

"Hey Keita, can we join too?"
I froze in place. I forgot that Kanchi and Kuma were there..! They must have overheard us. Dang it Fumi, why'd you say it so loud?

I felt like I was going to shatter into pieces. "Oh, uh... Sure! Everyone can come over!" Keita said, his face still flushing red. He's only doing this for Fumi... not surprising... "[Your Name] you don't mind, right?" He looked in my direction. I sighed, "Sure, why not? We can all help each other out." I gave a small smile.
