"Alright team, finish up your reports tomorrow. Go on and you can head home," Gideon instructed.
They all willingly obliged. After all, it had been a long tough case and no one wanted to relive it at the moment.
"Got any plans for tonight?" Derek asked Elle as he tossed a stack of case files onto his desk.
"Watch every single movie from my childhood," she snorted shaking her head, "I need something to burn all of this case out of my mind. What about you?"
"Probably gonna go for a run to help clear my head," he shrugged looking over to Reid. "What about you Pretty Boy?"
Reid rolled his eyes.
"Just going to bed like a normal person," he stated blandly.
"I don't think any part of you is normal," Derek deadpanned.
Reid gave him an annoyed look to which Derek smirked.

Derek looked down at his watch as he continued jogging down the paved street. The bouncy of his gait and the spaces between streetlights made it a bit difficult to read but he finally managed to see the numbers. 3.5 miles exactly. He slowed to a stop panting as he put his hands on his hips. The route he'd mapped was a four-mile route that looked back around to his house. For the last half mile, he always walked to cool down.
He made his way down the street towards the bridge that crossed a narrow but deep chasm. At the bottom was a river with fast-moving water and an abundance of jagged rocks that jutted out like teeth. Had he not looked out over the chasm, he might have missed the thin figure sitting on the railing of the bridge. His brow furrowed instantly unsure if he was seeing correctly.
"Hey!" he called over.
The figure didn't move. Frowning, he walked over.
"Hey, you okay?" he asked as he got closer.
The person nodded. They were placed just out of range of both of the bridge lights so that shadows covered them. It also didn't help that they were wearing a dark hoodie so they blended into the night.
"Don't come closer," a female voice snapped.
Derek froze blinking in surprise. He took a step forward. The person tense.
"I will do it if you come any closer," she warned making him freeze again
It dawned on him what she was doing sitting on the railing like that. He held back a groan. The last thing he needed right now was somebody committing suicide in front of him.
"I'll stay put," he promised, "If you tell me your name."
She was silent. Her hands still gripped the edge of the railing.
"My name's Derek Morgan," he offered gently.
She remained silent.
"Can-can you tell me why you're sitting like that?" he tried still not moving from where he was standing.
She didn't answer. He let out a sigh reaching for his phone. He was gonna have to call this in to get some help.
"They wanted the numbers. They said they wouldn't hurt him if I gave them the numbers," the girl whimpered, "I should have known better."
Derek was beyond confused but hey, getting her to talk was something.
"They?" he asked.
"I don't know them," she whimpered, "I should have known, I should have known."
