I had so many words that I just couldn't tell Kate

So many fucking things

So I got a sheet of blank printer paper and started writing

I wrote about me and her

About her

About our lives together

How she changed me for the better

How much I loved her

I couldn't emphasize that one enough

And then I pulled out my wallet, looking at the two pictures I had of Kate in there, taking out one of them

It was a picture of her smiling at me, her blue eyes glowing through the darkness of her brunette hair, me standing right next to her

I took a piece of tape and taped it to the letter, folding it into a paper airplane

I looked over at the window that people were standing by, contemplating on whether to jump based on the odds of their survival

Calum was the person standing on the window seal

"Calum!" I yell, running to him

"You have so much to live for man!" I tell him, "You have a baby and a wife. You could go home to them."

"Look at me Ashton, and look me in the eyes, and tell me that there's even the slightest chance that I can go home to my family."

"We both know it Ashton." He sobs, "We're gonna die, it's just a choice of how."

His eyes are glassed over, his face red, his shirt untucked, his hair messy from crying

"I love you Ashton." He says before he walks off of the broken glass window and to the hard concrete below, awaiting to catch his body

I hear his scream as he falls

And then there's silence

And I walk to the broken window an look down, seeing his mangled body on the concrete

And so I throw my paper plane, hoping that somehow it would make its way to Kate
