30. The End of it All

Start from the beginning

"I was scared of losing you! Okay?! I can't bear to lose you... You're all I want, Veronica... I can't be without you! I need you... I love you so fucking much and if you don't love me back, I don't know what I'll do..." Billy broke down, his face in his hands.

Veronica's gaze softened, fuck... Could she forgive him? Maybe she could... She knew it was wrong... Cause it was wrong, right..?

She carefully crawled over to him, cupping his face in her hands. "Please don't cry..." She whispered, "I'm sorry..."

Billy leaned forward and kissed her. "I love you..." He whispered.

"I know you do... I love you too..." Veronica said in between kisses. Billy removed his blood stained shirt and tossed it aside, deepening the kiss between them.

Veronica carefully removed her sweater and unbuttoned her jeans, Billy slipped her pants down. "Can I...?" He asked in a small whisper.

With hesitation Veronica nodded in response, knowing the mistake she was making.

-

About a week later, Billy found a small apartment for the two of them in Arizona.

They were able to purchase furniture and make it a home. Over the few months they had been living in the apartment Veronica was growing resentful of Billy, she hated him... yet she loved Billy and didn't want to hurt him. He had outbursts almost every day, especially when she mentioned Stu or Mickey. So she grew more quiet...

Billy returned home one day, "Ronnie?" He called out. Veronica appeared from the kitchen, wearing an apron and holding a whisk in one hand.

He cupped her face and kissed her, "I missed you..." He whispered. Veronica smiled softly, "I missed you too."

"Oh shoot." Billy said, "I forgot to go get groceries. Will you go buy some?" He asked with a sly smile.

Veronica's expression brightened, "Wait... Seriously?! Oh my god! I'm so happy!" She leapt into his arms and kissed him all over.

Billy set her down with a smile. However, that was soon proven to be the biggest mistake Billy had made...

-

Veronica got dressed and got some cash from Billy to walk down to the store just down the street. Billy wanted to start small to see if he could truly trust her.

Veronica gave him a kiss on the cheek and excitedly left their apartment.

She walked down the street and into the small market. She picked out everything on the list plus a few extra things and went to check out, as she left the store she had a strange feeling. She felt like she was being watched.

Her heart began to race as she entered panic mode. She spun around looking everywhere.

She felt herself get grabbed from behind and pulled into an alleyway. She tried to scream but her mouth was covered.

"Shh! Veronica it's me! It's me!" A familiar voice said. She spun around once more to see a face she hadn't seen in nearly two years. Dewey...

She immediately broke down into tears, "Oh my god... Dewey!" She sobbed hysterically, the words that came out next shocked her... but knew they were long overdue...

"Please! You have to help me... Billy... He-" Dewey cut her off, "Tell me where he is..."

"He's on the third floor of the apartment complex, room 308... Please, don't make me go back..." Veronica continued to bawl her eyes out until Dewey gave her specific instructions...

-

Veronica opened the door to her apartment and found Billy sitting in the chair in the living room. He angrily shot up from his seat and rush over to her, "What the fuck took you so long?" He demanded an answer from her in a husky voice.

Veronica winced at his words, he picked up on this and sighed. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." He said, reaching up to touch her cheek. She flinched as he touched her. Something was wrong... He stepped back a few feet.

"Veronica...?" He called out to her, "Veronica what's wrong...? What did you- Did someone recognize you...?!" He charged back towards her.

He heard feet running up the stairs, he looked down at her. His eyes were dark and full of rage. He raised his hand to hit her, but stopped himself.

"Veronica..." He said, his voice wavered.

He grabbed her arm tightly, "What the fuck did you do?!" He roared, his voice echoed throughout the small apartment.

Veronica's eyes watered as she flinched once more. He let go, seeing that he scared her. "Veronica...? Veronica, answer me... Doll...?" His eyes flashed with fear and anger.

"Oh my god... You called the fucking cops... didn't you?!" Billy paced around the room, "I can't fucking believe you... I trusted you! You bitch!"

Veronica bolted into the kitchen, Billy followed after her, wielding his knife in his hand. Veronica screamed as the blade sliced her arm, Billy's heart ached as he did this, "You can't do this and not expect punishment, baby..."

He grabbed Veronica and threw her against the counter, she felt her ribs crack. She wailed out in pain as Billy then threw her over the table, she toppled to the ground then quickly stood back up.

Veronica grabbed a hold of an ugly vase that Billy bought, one he thought Veronica would like. She smashed him over the head with it. He growled in agony as he fell to the ground. "You bitch! I'll fucking gut you! Just like I did to Sidney and everyone else!!"

The moment he attempted to stand up the door burst open and he was shot in the shoulder, he fell back down. Police began to swarm the apartment. Dewey ran to Veronica's side and got her out of the apartment as quickly as he could.

"You're safe... I promise..." He whispered as he brought her towards an ambulance. "You won't ever see him again..."

Veronica felt relieved, but she knew it wouldn't truly be over... They always come back... always...

-

Veronica found herself sitting in the back of an ambulance, the doors open as they treated her cut wound along with the various bruises and injuries she had withstood in her time with Billy Loomis.

A familiar face appeared in the distance, it rapidly approached when they locked eyes. Randy...

Randy bolted towards her and hugged her, "Oh my god... I thought you were dead..." His voice wavered, "I missed you so much! I'm so glad you're alive..."

"I missed you too..." Veronica began to cry, "I'm so glad they got him..."

Veronica watched as cops dragged Billy from the apartment building after a few minutes of them being in there with him. His eyes locked with hers, she quickly looked away. Randy pulled away and looked at Billy. "No fucking way..." He muttered. "I always knew he was a sick fuck... That bastard... Go cry to your mama, bitch!" He hollered at Billy who attempted to break away from the cops hold on him.

"Holy shit... What a freak..." Randy said and turned his attention back to Veronica. "I guess we'll be seeing that mother fucker in court, unless he confesses..."

-

Billy confessed the moment the cops began to interrogate him. Stu was given the same sentence but with less restrictions as Billy given he was the one that alerted Dewey that Billy and Veronica were both in Arizona, he had passed through there while still on the run and seen the van.

Stu turned himself in right away, wanting this sick game to be over.

Veronica was placed in the hospital and no charges were pressed against her due to her circumstances, even falsely reporting back in High School. She was only going to be sent to a mental health facility for a few months after being discharged from the hospital.

Randy visited her in the Hospital every day. His feelings for her hadn't ever gone away... Soon enough Veronica admitted she shared his feelings, but their relationship was kept very mild. Randy wanted her to recover from the catastrophe with Billy, Stu, and Mickey too.
