Chapter 5.5: The Truth (Part 2)

Just then you feel someone's arms around you, they felt cold against your skin, their breath crept down your neck giving you shivers.

You turn around and it was Xiao, holding you close. "X-Xiao, what are you doing?" You asked but he remained silent, holding your waist tightly. "Xiao I'm going out..." You said not knowing if Xiao was okay.

"Call my name if your in danger or need help" Xiao whispered in your ear. You nodded and smiled at him, as you turned around you realised he must have been sleep walking, you giggled quietly and planted a small kiss on his cheek before laying him in bed and finish changing. You leave to find Zhongli waiting on you and you went off to make friends.

After a while you meet a few new people, Hu Tao is Zhongli's colleague and Yanfei works as a lawyer, you all sit in a grass field and get to know eachother but after a while you start to miss Xiao. But before long a group of hilichurls find you all and luckly they all have visions, after defeating the easier hilichurls, a large one comes out.

You stand back in shock and panic thinking how useless you are. They all struggled to take down the Stonehide Lawachurl and eventually Yanfei had to fall back, you decided to make yourself useful and treat her wounds. You felt like crying just then Yanfei said we should leave and go some place safer. You refused to leave Hu Tao and Zhongli behind.

You started to sob, then you remembered that you can ask Xiao for help. "Xiao!" You yelled and he got to you as soon as possible, appearing right in front of you. Yanfei holds you tight and you suggest that we go somewhere to get Yanfei properly cared for while Xiao stayed and helped Zhongli and Hu Tao.

A few hours later you fell asleep by Yanfei's bed in Wangshu Inn. 'I feel bad for leaving them with the Stonehide Lawachurl, but I had to take Yanfei back, right?' So many thoughts flooded your head before waking up in your own bed, Xiao sat at the window ledge.

You sit up and look over at Xiao and you slowly make your way over to him, tugging on his sleave to get his attention. "Xiao, are you okay?" You asked as you looked up at him. "I'm fine, I'm just glad your safe." Xiao swings around to face you, you hold your arms out wanting a hug. Xiao looked down at you confused.

"What?" Xiao said as he go down from his window ledge. You couldn't take it anymore and wrapped your arms around him and nuzzled into him. Just then you hear a knock at the door, Xiao tries to get you off him to go answer it but you refuse to let go. "Damn you Mortal, let go!" Xiao said as he tried his hardest to get you off without harming you. Failing and picked you up instead then opened the door.

Once again Zhongli but with Hu Tao and Yanfei "They just wanted to see if Y/N was alright from earlier." Zhongli said with a small smile. "She looks fine but is acting like a spoiled brat" Xiao said as he then felt something hit his leg, it was you kicking him. He sighs "I'm going to try put her to sleep..." Xiao said as he started to shut the door. "Keep her safe!" Yanfei yelled.

Once again Xiao tries to get you off him and can't so he gives up and lays in bed with you attached to him. You nuzzle into him staying clung till you fell asleep. Once asleep your grip loosened and Xiao got free and did his nightly duties.

In the morning you wake up and stretch, not seeing Xiao anywhere you got up and changed. Waiting for Xiao to return you raided his drawers once more and found a deck of cards.

Eventually Xiao came back and saw you on the floor. "What are you wasting your time with now?" He said demanding to know. "I dunno~" You teased. He snarled and sat beside you, slightly curious about what your doing. "Watch me and maybe you can try" You said with a smirk as you finally beat the game for the first time and gave a smirk.

"Bet you can't do that!" You said cockily but 7 minutes later and Xiao bet the game on his first go, what luck. You glared at him before pouncing at him and pinning him on the floor. "Damn it! Don't cheat! Filthy Adeptus!" Just then Zhongli walked in with Hu Tao and Yanfei who clearly just wanted to surprise you.

"Are we interrupting something?" Zhongli asked politely. Your face flushes red in an instant. "I never knew Y/N was so dominant, even over a male, your so ambitious!" Yanfei called out and snickered. "S-STOP IT!" You yelled, letting go of Xiao and getting off him, you just wanted to run away right there and then.

"GET OUT" You yelled still unable to look up with how embarrassed you had gotten. Zhongli chuckled and shooed them out along with himself giving us peace.

You sit in silence for the next hour or so not doing or saying anything to eachother. You felt as if he hated you now for embarrassing him in front of them so you decided that that night you would go out and leave him in peace.
