That Would Be Impossible

I stared wide eyed at him, I guess Lincoln got to him before I could.

Without a word I tucked my arms around his waist, locking on to him. Convincing him with words wouldn't be enough.

I could feel his arms hovering around me and hear his heart beating out of his chest, I wasn't sure if he knew what was happening.

I pulled tighter, hoping he would get the message and just hold me.

Slowly, his tensed body loosened and his hand found its way on my back, then slid across my small frame and pulled me as close to him as he could.

I smiled into his vest and breathed in his scent. It wasn't exactly earthy but it wasn't artificial either, it was just him.

"It would be impossible to forget you for long, Bellamy Blake." I whispered into his shirt.

I felt his lips press against the top of my head and he stayed there for a moment, his breath brushing away the panic I faced when I nearly shot him.

I pulled back to look at his wonderful face and smiled. What would I have done if I hadn't remembered his beautiful soul, probably still cold and go about my day like I ruled the world. But when I think of him, of the times I manage to recall, of the way he makes me feel, I already feel like a queen. And he is my king.

"I thought I lost you." He breathed, a hand cupping my cheek and pulling me forward while he leant down, our foreheads pressed and I couldn't help but feel another smile come on.

"Oh, Never." I teased. "I'm Cora, I get shit done."

He finally smiled and it made my heart flutter to the ends of the earth. Sure there was still that empty feeling when I thought of him, like pieces were missing, but all I cared about were the memories I did have. And they were enough to hold me together when things could be falling apart.

He reached his injured hand up to my other cheek absentmindedly, flinching on impact.

I frowned and grabbed his wrist, holding his hand in my palm and examining it carefully.

I brushed my thumb gently against the split on his skin, "What happened..." I wondered.

He stayed silent, his hand only curling around mine.

I looked up to find his eyes trained directly on my face. I frowned nervously and looked back down at his hand, squeezing his fingers lightly to check the swelling. "Oh."

"I can't lose you again." His voice rumbled like a growl that sent shivers down my spine.

"You won't." I assured him casually, letting go of his hand and sliding my arms around his waist once again.

"I'm serious, from now on, any stupid decision either of us make, we do it together." He planted a soft kiss on my forehead.

My new found smile widened and I chuckled. "Sounds like a plan."

"I love you." He muttered.

I let my eyes flutter close and leaned closer. "I love you too."

I didn't take the time to let him make the first move as I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled myself up to him. It seemed he read the moment as I did because our lips crashed together softly, moulding together, tasting each other. Electricity surged through my body, sparks flew between us each time our lips moved around each other.

His one good hand found its way on to my hip and before I knew it his kisses grew stronger and he started backing me into a door.

My back hit it squarely and I let out a gasp of thrill as my lips curled into a smile.
