"Something happened in March, and I'm hiding right now. Out of the public eye, that means. I don't want to be seen for a while, so when we go back, if we want to continue meeting up, it will be very secretive and no where except from our houses. That's even if you want to keep on meeting up, I mean, if you don't want to that fine but-"
"Tay, stop rambling. I do want to keep meeting up and I do not care if we have to be secret about it. And I know about the situation, I have connections." Maddie reassured her, taking one hand off the wheel and taking Taylor's hand into it instead. The blonde felt herself blush, and was glad that the redhead had to keep her eyes on the road.

"I picked you up from the hotel, where do you live?" Taylor asked on the plane, once it was in the sky.
"Oh, uh, I have an apartment in New York, I just moved in. It's pretty tiny, but it's nice. Can't remember the street but there's a street a few minutes away called Cornelia Street, I always walk past it." Maddie replied, her eyes glued to whatever she was looking at on her phone.
The plane slowly started descending, Maddie surprising herself with not freaking out. Once they were set in the back of the taxi, Taylor said,
"I rent a place on Cornelia Street."
"No way! Stop that's so cool." Maddie exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.

"I'll see you soon!" Taylor said, hugging Maddison one last time. As the car drove off, Maddie picked up her suitcase and went inside her small apartment. Immediately, Maddie went to her bedroom, lying on her bed. She missed her apartment, even having several moments where she thought of quitting her job. Checking her emails for the past few days, she squealed from happiness when she reached to the one she was looking forward to.
She got the job as a bartender! It might have not been the biggest accomplishment, but all that Maddie needed to quit her job as a performer was another job. And now, she finally sent the email to her boss. She finally didn't have to dance. With that, she considered Taylor's offer. She already agreed, but she badly did not want to perform again, ever.
Checking the time, it was just after 7pm. She clicked on Taylor's number and sent her a text.
Taylor❤️🩹
tay, i don't think i want to
do the performance anymore.
the funeral brought up memories,
and it would be too painful. im
sorry for letting you down.

With her heart pounding, Maddison sent the text, immediately locking her phone and throwing it down on her bed, going to the bathroom to take a long, hot shower to get rid of the jet lag.
An hour and a half later, Maddie came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and her hair dripping. Having completely forgotten about the text message, she grabbed her phone, seeing a notification from Taylor.

With that, Maddie quickly looked into her wardrobe, picking out some dark blue ripped jeans and a dark brown zip up, which a white tank top underneath. Her hair still wet, she used the remaining five minutes she had to blow dry it messily, her natural waves showing.
She got a notification that Taylor was outside her house, so she quickly locked the door and ran outside, seeing the black car in the driveway.
"So, McDonalds?"
