Dumbledore continues, "You may begin at the start of the cannon."

The cannon fires and the champions enter the water, three of them dive in while Harry is pushed. Underwater the effects of gilliweed take hold, and Harry's hands and feet become webbed.

[Back above the water Seamus stares down below,]

"What's happening to him?" Seamus asks,

"I don't know I can't see him."

Neville slaps his hands onto his head, "Oh my God. I've killed Harry Potter."

"What!" lily yells.

"You've done what now!" Primrose yells.

"You would think it would be his twin down at the bottom of the lake." Regulus muttered

Neville lets out a nervous laugh.

[Back underwater Harry swims among the fish and rocks. Singing voices start echoing.]

Harry sees Fleur get trapped, and she screams.

[back above moody checks his watch and paces back and forth]

"The Beauxbatons champion Miss Delacour has unfortunately been forced to retire. She will take no further part in this task."

[Harry drifts deeper and deeper, bubbles trailing from his gills. Dark velvet grasses twitch in the current caressing his skin. The water grows darker]

He drifts, then the black weeds come apart. Harry's eyes widened as he realized they weren't weeds at all but grindylows.

Fangs bared, and they swarmed. Harry reaches for the wand lashed to his ankle, but his webbed fingers fumble it. The wand tumbles in a roiling cloud of bubbles. Grindylow reaches for it, when Harry quickly snatches it away,

"Incendio!"

A jet of Fiery Red Bubbles rockets from the tip of the wand and strikes the Grindylow dead in the chest, leaving a Scarlet Welt. Howling in a gargled rage, the gridylows corkscrews away.

Harry swims, even more, deeper and finds Ron, Hermione, Cho, and a blonde girl from Beauxbatons that he recognizes as Fluer's sister Gabrielle, tied in place by their ankles.

"Are they dead!" Peter asks, wide-eyed.

"My son!"

Harry swims forward and tugs hard at the ropey vines that bind them. He takes a look around and sees that Cedric is there, he slips a Knife from his waistband and frees Cho with a flick of the blade, then glances at Harry and taps his wrist—

time's running out.

Harry grabs a rock and moves to free Hermione, but as he poises the rock the merpeople swoops between and Shakes her head.

"But she's my friend too!"

"No! Now it's not the time to play hero!" Barty shouts.
