Baby Bates

Chapter 1

Bates woke up to find Anna still asleep. He gently whispered,"Anna, it's time to get up."
Anna fluttered her eyes open at the sound of his voice. She smiled a sleepy smile. "Good morning, Anna." Bates said and kissed her.
"I don't feel that well."
"What's wrong?"
"My stomach hurts. Excuse me for a moment."

"I think I ought to see Doctor Clarkson today."
"Would you like me to come with you?"
"No, you should head to the abbey. Let them know that I don't feel well."
"Alright. And I'll get them to send a car."

That afternoon Bates came home to find Anna knitting a small sock for some reason. She sat there peacefully humming to herself and looked very happy. "Anna, I'm home!" he called out. Anna immediately stopped what she was doing and almost ran to him.
"I have the most wonderful news!" she exclaimed.
"You're not sick?" he asked with complete confusion as to what was going on.
"No. I..."
"You what?"
"I'm pregnant!"
