Jamie

Mom, Dad, and me were sitting on the floor in my room.

I had my eyes closed.

"Take deep breaths. In and out." She instructed.

I took deep breaths.

"Feel your body grounded and clear your mind."

I cleared my mind of all the cases I had to work on.

"The answers to some of our biggest questions can be found in our bodies."

Jim

I opened my eyes.

I looked across at Diane.

Jamie

"If we can just quiet the mind and feel our intuition."

Jim

I glanced over at Jamie.

Jamie

"Remember, you're feeling, not thinking. So, Jamie, notice the way your body feels after I make each statement."

Jim

I continued looking at Jamie.

Jamie

"You should choose for Callie not to have the surgery."

A knot formed in my gut.

"And now, Jamie, you should choose for Callie to have the surgery."

The knot in my gut disappeared.

"How did you feel after each statement?" Mom questioned.

"Well... When you said that I shouldn't choose the surgery, I-- I felt a knot in my stomach. Like you were wrong."

"And when Mom said that you should choose the surgery?" Dad inquired.

"The knot went away."

I opened my eyes.

I looked between both of them.

I sighed.
