The means to deal
A minute without Reo almost felt like an hour to Nagi, it's crazy how used he had gotten to his presence. No matter how extremely tired he was after running laps for two hours, he could only get about twenty minutes of sleep in. It's because he was worried about Reo. He was happy to have successfully avoided his friend for the first chunk of the Saturday but is now suspicious of his whereabouts. He couldn't help but feel a sense of worry, so he decided to get up to go look for him anyway. Before leaving the classroom he peered out of the open window where he had sights on the courtyard and actually found the purple floof that is Reo's head close to the training grounds and talking with a bunch of strangers. Nagi felt himself physically relax and he took a seat on the chair he put next to the window, leaning his arms over the windowsill.
Reo's always been so good at socializing... Nagi thinks as he's trying to tell himself that it's a positive thing.
He thinks back to their high school days and how many admirers his friend had back then. He never understood why Reo favored him over anyone else, but it always made him feel warm inside and maybe even a bit proud. He really took it for granted back then, because right now he wants nothing more than to have Reo all for himself. The people he is talking to right now are probably only interested in his physical attributes and his football skills while he is so much more than that, he is smart, sweet, caring and-
He stops in his tracks as he suddenly notices the one in question looking up at the window which Nagi is partially draped over and gives an excited looking wave and smile. Nagi wants nothing more than to reciprocate the gesture but he for some reason ducks and hides away instead. His head was so set on avoiding the boy that he just panicked and did something that's definitely about to raise some questions. Maybe he should just get back up and wave anyway? He considers, but decides that will also make him look stupid. He curses himself out after seeing Reo's innocently confused expression flash over his mind and tries to tell himself that Reo probably just laughed and brushed it off to the people he was talking to.
Nagi gathers some courage to at least peer a little over the windowsill in a movement that is more impulsive than thought out, but is relieved to see that Reo is back to the conversation with the strangers as if nothing had happened. He's relieved, and a little disappointed, but at least now he knows that distancing himself from Reo won't become a big issue on Reo's end.
