Other Half

Your love was so honest,
Your love was so pure,
To your heart he was the closest,
And to be faithful you swore.

Your love I admire,
Your sacrifice even more.
Your wings were set on fire,
But for your love you chose to ignore.

You're such a strong woman,
And your will causes fright.
Romeo was your Goodman,
And you were his knight.

Paris's love remains unacknowledged,
His gentleness even more,
His heart was damaged,
His soul remaining sore.

Maybe it wasn't meant to be,
And forever wasn't for you,
Your life was filled with loss and tragedy,
But your love remained very true.

I hope in another birth,
You'll find Romeo again,
And your happiness will not be dearth,
'Cuz you'll be free from tragedy then.

As you can tell, this poem is about Romeo and Juliet. In this poem, I am talking to Juliet about her incomplete and tragic love. I've written a lot of poems on emotions, so I decided to give tragic love stories a try. I hope you guys enjoy it! I was thinking about writing a poem about one of India's most tragic love story called Devdas. It's a Bengali based book which has a movie adaptation. I'm hoping I'll find the time and inspiration for it. If you guys have any suggestions, please do interact, I'd love to hear your ideas. Thank you ^^
