Chapter Twelve

**Hello everyone! So, I know it's been a while but I've finally decided to return to this story. Just a disclaimer, it's been about three years since I first started this story.. needless to say I've changed a lot and so has my writing style. When I first started this story I was finishing up my junior year in high school and now I've just finished my second year in college. So if there's a sudden shift in writing style that'll explain it. The scene might also be slightly more graphic than before, seeing as I'm not in my 20's an no longer in my teens. I'll post a warning before each chapter so that you guys know what you're getting into. Whelp, that's enough blabbering from me.. I hope this chapter is the start of everything you guys have been waiting for! If not, try not to be too disappointed, I'm just a little rusty. *6 weeks later*

I propelled myself through the water, a small stream of bubbles escaping through my nose as I turned my head to the side to get a quick breath before putting my face back under. Stroke after stroke until my lungs began to burn for more air and I had to surface for another breath. The muscles of my arms and legs rippled as I continued moving through the water at a fairly quick speed. As the concrete wall nears closer to me I begin to slow down a little bit, no longer stroking to push myself forward, and my I wait until my outstretched fingers brush against the smooth cement of the pool wall. The water here is just a little too deep for me to be able to stand so I tread water as I pull my goggles from my face, but keep my eyes closed.

"I didn't think you were going to be stopping any time soon." A voice above me says with a chuckle and I laugh without opening my eyes.

"I would've kept going but I couldn't help shake the feeling that some creeper was watching me." I say with a hint of sass as I open one eye to look up at the boy above me. "Honestly, Cam, when are you going to learn that watching girls who aren't your girlfriend swim is rather unattractive."

Cam snorts, leaning down and dunking my head underwater. I resurface with a sputter, and glare at him with what the boys refer to as my "death stare".

"That was incredibly rude, Cameron James Hart and I'm sure your mother would be appalled to hear about your complete lack of manners." His smirk slides away as his face pales. Ahh yes, using Caroline as a threat always works like a charm. "Now be a gentleman and help me out so you can stop breaking your poor mother's heart." I tell him and he nods slowly as if afraid that arguing would only further his mom's disappointment. He reaches his hand out and I grasp it, pausing for a moment before tugging backwards as hard as I can. To me immense pleasure Cam goes tumbling head first into the water with a large splash and I laugh.

When he surfaces his facial expression is one that just sends me into an even deeper fit of laughter. A mixture of shock and anger that looks completely bizarre etched onto his facial features stares back at me.

"Was that really necessary, Ru?" He asks, furrowing his forehead at me and I just laugh even more at him in response.

"Don't give me that face, Cameroni and Cheese," I saw, swimming over to him so I can ruffle his hair, "You're the one that kept me up half that night blabbering about how we don't hang out enough."

"And if I had known it would've resulted in this I wouldn't have wasted my breath." He grumbles, shoving my hand away from his hair as he tried to restyle it.

"Cameroni!" I whine, jumping on his back, and his arms catch underneath my legs, supporting me, just like I knew he would. "Don't say such awful things to your best friend!"

"You're such a pain in my ass, Ru. I don't know what my brother sees in you."

"Yes you do," Another voice says with a laugh and I grin up at my boyfriend from where he's standing by the edge of the pool.
