Geb: Geb, god ot the earth
Nut: Nut, goddess of the sky
(Shu and Tefnut nudged Geb and Nut forward)
Shu and Tefnut: Say hello to your grandfather, Ra.
Geb: Hello, Grandpa Ra! (Ra forced a smile)
Ra: Hello, Geb.
Nut: Hello, Grandpa Ra! It's an honor to meet you!
Ra: Hello, Nut. Nice to meet you too.
Narrator: Shu and Tefnut could sense Ra's disappointment and tried to explain.
Shu: We know they're not as impressive as other gods.
Tefnut: But Geb and Nut have their own special talents!
(Geb piped up eagerly)
Geb: I can make the ground shake!
(Nut added)
Nut: And I can make it rain!
(Ra raised an eyebrow)
Ra: Impressive!
Narrator: In time, Ra rose to prominence as Egypt's first pharaoh, bestowing upon Egypt many treasures, including lions and oxen, but most notably, the Nile River.
Narrator: In his years of ruling he grew paranoid of his position being overtaken and so he banned his grandchildren from having any offspring.
----
Ra, the sun god, sat on his throne with his grandkids, Geb and Nut, standing before him. Geb was the god of the earth, and Nut was the goddess of the sky. Ra looked at them sternly.
Ra: My dear grandchildren. I must speak with you about something of importance. As gods, you have great power, but you must also exercise great responsibility. There are some things to not do
(Geb and Nut looked at each other, confused)
Nut: What is it, grandfather?
Ra: (took a deep breath) You must not have offspring."
Geb and Nut were taken aback.
Geb: What do you mean, grandfather?
Ra: I mean you cannot have children. It is forbidden.
Nut: Why is that, grandfather?
Ra: Because children will inherit your power. And if they have children, power will be divided and weakened. We must maintain the balance of power in the universe, and that means limiting the number of gods.
Geb and Nut looked at each other, understanding the gravity of the situation.
Geb: We understand, grandfather. We will not have children.
Ra: Good. Remember, my dear grandchildren, you are powerful gods, but you must also be responsible. Your actions affect the entire universe.
Narrator: With that, Ra dismissed them, and Geb and Nut left the throne room, solemnly pondering the weight of their responsibilities as gods.

Seth's Deception: A Plot Against Osiris
Ra: "Welcome, my children. I am Ra, the sun god, creator of all that exists. I have brought you into being so that you may help me bring order to the universe."
Narrator: And so began the story of Shu and Tefnut, the offspring of Ra, and the beginning of the Egyptian pantheon. From their union would come the four children, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, and Seth, each with their own unique destiny and story to tell. Their adventures would shape the course of Egyptian mythology and inspire countless generations to come. This is the tale of the gods of ancient Egypt, a story of power, love, jealousy, and betrayal. A story that has stood the test of time and continues to captivate and enthrall us to this day.
