Running down the long hall, my boots hitting the floor hard but unheard, hidden under the blaring alarm, emergency lights bathing the entire complex interior in a deep crimson glow. Gunshots ring out through the halls and angry men shout after me in some East Asian language I can't make out over all the other noise that overwhelms my auditory processing, leaving me with sensory overload that makes me physically itch with discomfort. I haul ass around the next left turn and my feet slip half out from beneath me, leaving me pushing myself upright again with my hands after they hit the ground, stinging with a painful itching heat that runs sore through my wrists. Bullets start to whiz by my head and I let out a surprised yelp as I then slam the full weight of my body into the door to my right, falling into the room and realizing there's no other exit here than the way I came in.
Losing time, I make a run for the only thing I do see, just as the door behind me comes kicking in with violent force, my armored body comes into contact with the glass, shattering it as I now fall out of the third story window, a grin plastered on my blood splattered and ash covered face as I howl with laughter, tears in my deep brown eyes and a soft ache in my chest. My upper body armor retracts into my collar as I watch the ground getting closer, then feel the heat of an explosion behind me, before my boots burry into the foot of snow below and I roll forward before springing onto my feet, slapping the touchpads on the sides of my leg armor, which then extends down my legs and create skis under my boots, allowing me to make my way down the mountainside quickly. The compound behind me is falling apart, crumbling to ashes and creating an avalanche which quickly starts to catch up with me. In a slight panic, I touch my ear piece and call in to my companion on the other end,
"Wesker you sexy son of a bitch you better have that ship in the air, I need an early pickup!" I exclaim loudly over the sharp wind cutting at my cheeks with its icy claws as I make my way down with natural disaster hot on my heels ready to bury my sorry ass.
After a moment my ear piece emits a high pitched frequency which makes me wince in pain until Wesker's voice cuts through, his sarcastic and annoyed tone making me roll my eyes and cringe slightly. "Sorry boss, was distracted explaining why you haven't shown up with only thirty minutes till show time! Seriously Monday, we gotta stop taking these super last minute missions. You're gonna lose your contract, or worse, get yourself killed." He snarls, and I groan obnoxiously, intentionally being extra loud and annoying about it, then listen to the silence on the other end for about ten seconds before interrupting it.
"Got the ship up?" I ask in a suddenly innocent and squeaky tone, playing off my prior obnoxiousness. He sighs and then I hear the ship's engine just over the other sound around me, and look over to see the large red and gold aircraft flying ever closer, the ladder hanging low. I orient myself at an angle to get closer, then make a risky jump for it, just barely managing to catch a rung.
I draw in a sharp breath before letting out a hissing wheeze of regret as pain slams through my shoulders and upper arms, traveling through to my collar bone from the sudden tug against my anatomy upon catching myself. I hold my body flush with the ladder for a moment as I catch my breath before I start to climb up the ladder, Wesker pulling the ship up and away from the avalanche, which we just barely avoid, much to my chagrin. I make my way into the body of the ship and then pull the ladder up before slamming the hatch shut and enclosing us in near silence.
I sigh softly and brush myself off, making my way to the head of the ship with a stern posture, cocking my head slightly to the side as I look at Wesker, who's clearly ignoring me, focusing on flying us back to the city in time for my show. I furrow my brow softly in annoyance at this, and sigh audibly to let my frustration be known. He slowly turns to face me in cartoonish fashion, blinking slowly as he rolls his eyes and then looks up at me, his expression rather flat, and it's clear he's displeased with me, while I smile sheepishly at him, a soft red tint rising on my cheeks with amusement as I sway my hips a little.
