The dial tone rang as Evelyn hung up.
"Who was that?" The singer asked, still leaning against the door frame.
"My little sister. Well, half-sister. We have - had, different mothers, but the same father."
Taylors heart shattered at Maddie's correction.
I mean, at least she's awake.
"Wait shit. Can I borrow your laptop?" The redhead panicked, so visibly that Taylor immediately bought her the laptop.
"I'll go get you something to eat." She said, leaving the Brit in the bedroom.
Maddie searched up all of the plane airlines she knew, looking for a last minute economy ticket to England. Money wasn't a concern; she was ready to spend thousands as long as she had a one way to her hometown.
Realising there were no flights at all this last minute, she slammed the laptop shut and got up, heading to the bathroom.
How long would it take to drive there?
Slamming the door of the bathroom, Maddison slid down the door, tears piercing her eyes once more. She was never much of a crier, but she never had anything to cry about. Scream? Yes. But cry? Almost never.
She showered and got ready. She was going to somehow attend that funeral, whether she would have to drive there or fly there. She had a black dress that looked fine, so she didn't even have to go shopping.
Is there some Eurotunnel in America??
As she came out of the bathroom, she saw Taylor in the living room, writing something in a notebook. When she heard the door open, she glanced up, smiling as she saw Maddison.
"Taylor?" The redhead began, walking over to the singer.
"Maddie?" She copied, closing the notebook and turning her body to face the performer.
"You know how you're, famous and everything?"
Taylor, uncertainly replied, "Yes?"
With a deep breath, Maddison explained, "So, the funeral is tomorrow. In England. At 3pm. And I checked flight tickets and there is, uh, nothing. Do you like, I don't know, have a private boat or jet or something?"
Taylor nodded. "Not a boat, but a mini jet, yeah."
Maddies eyes widened. "Woah."
The blonde giggled, finding the younger girls reaction adorable.
●
Maddie was packing all of her things into a small suitcase, getting ready to leave. Taylor walked past the room, when she heard a voice call her name.
"C'mere for a sec!"
The blonde went into the room, seeing Maddie packing her things. She stopped as soon as the American came in.
"Can you, uhm, come with me? I don't want to be alone on the flight. Please? Its fine if you can't honest-" Maddie began rambling, before she felt Taylor's hands hold her shoulders.
"Of course I will come, now stop stressing and make some space for me to pack too."
●
The girls drove up to the airport, Atlas the guard driving them in a black Jeep. The got out of the car, their bags already out there.
"Shit, paps. Here." Taylor said, handing Maddie a pair of sunglasses and a cap. She put her own on and they began their way through the crowd.
Maddies a natural, she's not even bothered by it.
As they boarded the plane, Taylor could feel the anxiety set into Maddie.
"You okay?"
Maddison snapped out of her daydream. Her leg stopped shaking and she sat completely still, like she was called out for being naughty by a teacher
She slowly nodded, avoiding any sort of eye contact. Taylor opened her arms, miming to Maddie. Carefully, the Brit lay her head down on Taylor's shoulder, while the blonde wrapped her own arms around the redheads figure. As the plane started up, she could feel how tense the girl was; she was even shaking from the anxiety.
Taylor ran her fingers through Maddie's hair, trying to calm her down as much as she could. She knew that fears were hard to cope with, so she tried to comfort the redhead. When the plane reached its fastest speed, Maddison tightly shut her eyes, gripping onto Taylor's shirt with all her strength.
"Shh, shh, its okay." The blonde whispered, feeling the redhead begin to shake even more. Once they were evened out in the air, Maddison unbuckled herself and ran to the bathroom, throwing up. She asked herself what she was even throwing up, she didn't eat at all that morning.
Once she was back, she placed her head back on Taylors shoulder, while the blonde did some work on her laptop.
What am I doing? She's still with Tom, aren't we meant to hate each other?
"Are you still with Tom?" She said, before being able to stop her impulsive thoughts.
"No, not anymore. He tried to propose and I rejected him." The singer replied, looking down at Maddie. "Are you seeing anyone special?"
The redhead shook her head.
"After the breakup I, uh, realised a few things. Had a few one night stands but that's it." She didn't want to come out to Taylor, she really didn't. But at the same time, she wanted her to know everything.
"I'm lesbian."
