The sweet scent of lavender and honeysuckles filled my nose as I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. My skin heated under the warmth of the afternoon sun. I had forgotten what summer was like outside, it had been so long since I had spent one outdoors.

The noises of the other students all fell away. And then the picture comes into view behind my eyelids. I was standing in the front yard with Anne and Eddie, playing Olympics. I was five at most. Laughter and squeals rang through the air as we had fun. Eddie winning, of course, but Anne still rewarding us both with ice cream. I smiled at the memory, refusing to open my eyes .

The taxi honked behind me, jerking me from my lovely memories, reminding me that I still needed to pay him and get my things out. I wasn't five years old in Anne's front yard. Instead I was back on my college campus, for another year of school.

"Gabby!" I heard a shriek and before I could even turn around, I was nearly knocked over with the weight of someone jumping on me. I dropped my luggage and buckled underneath the weight and we both went tumbling to the ground.

"Hey, Cyndi." I laughed, without even having to look to see who was on top of me. She quickly got to her feet.

"Sorry." She said, offering me her hand. Though I took it, I didn't put much weight on it, knowing it would probably just pull her back down. Cyndi was all of five feet tall and if we were honest, my luggage probably weighed more than she did.

Once up, I brushed myself off, looking to the guy standing behind Cyndi.

"Liam." I nodded to him. "How was France?"

"It was awesome." Liam said, already half way over to me, grabbing my luggage. He picked it up, effortlessly, standing up straight again.

"We missed you. It sucked that your dad wouldn't let you go." Cyndi added. All my friends at college knew about my father was that he was strict. And that's all I will ever allow them to know.

We walked back to our dorm, chatting about France and mostly about their summer. They had had an eventful summer. I was envious of Cyndi sometimes. She got to live this amazing life of traveling and parties. Her parents were nothing like my father. And then she had Liam. A great guy that looked at her like she was his world. My dad ran off any guy that I had ever tried to date. Though, once I got to college, I tried a few guys, but nothing ever panned out. Now I had given up on dating, and went with random hookups instead.

"So my frat is having an end of the summer party tomorrow night." Liam said, once he had carried my bags up three flights of stairs and sat them in our room. "Are you coming?" He directed this just at me, because it was a given that Cyndi would be attending.

"That sounds great." I said, trying not to sound overly excited. Party equaled contact with other people. Something I had been missing this entire summer. It was exciting to be getting back into the swing of things.

Staring at my closet I wondered what I would wear to the first party of the year. Maybe my tight black dress? No. My red one? No. I finally settle on a tight pair of jeans and a tight pink crop top.

Looking at myself in the mirror, I slipped in my favorite star bellybutton ring. I fixed one of my black curls as I gave my appearance one last look. I contemplated that the light color didn't go well with my fair skin, and I looked like a vampire. Shaking my head, I decided not to change, before grabbing my purse and heading out.

The party was packed as usual when I arrived. Cyndi and Liam were already here, somewhere. It was just my job to find them.

As I walked into the frat house the potent smell of alcohol nearly knocked me down. Yet I was still smiling. It was another smell I hadn't gotten to experience all summer. Though, admittedly, not one I missed too much sober.

"Gabs!" I heard my name shouted over the pounding of overly loud music. I looked around, but all I saw was a hand in the air with a red solo cup in it. I laughed as Niall came into view. He smiled, his blonde hair tousled, his blue eyes shining at me. "You are here!"

"Of course I am here!" I laughed and he extended the cup toward me. I took it. "Thanks." I took a sip of the contents and winced as the sting hit me for the first time in months.

"I was going to call you earlier, but I wasn't for sure if you were back yet." He yelled over the music. "Want to dance?"

Niall and I danced and drank some more before finding Cyndi and Liam, who were glued to each other on one of the couches. I sit in the armchair and Niall on the arm of the sofa.

"Enough you two." He said playfully shoving Liam's back. "I would say get a room, but unfortunately, your room is mine."

"Still?" I asked. Last year, when they were pledges, they were dorm mates.

"Yeah." Liam said, wiping his mouth, but he still had red lipstick all over it. "Just until next year, though. Most of the brothers are graduating this year, so we will move up to our own rooms."

We sit and talk for a bit, but talking really wasn't something you could do at a frat party. Eventually, Liam and Cyndi made their way upstairs, where I knew she would stay until tomorrow morning.

I looked at Niall and smiled.

"Now let's get this party started!" I yelled and a couple of already drunk people yelled around us. He laughed and took my hand. By the look in his eye, I already knew where this would lead. I downed two more red solo cups.

Two hours later Niall walked me back to my door. We stood outside for a bit, giggling at nothing really, leaning against the door frame.

Niall moved some hair off of my face, his eyes watching it move before they found my again. He leaned in, drunkedly, almost hitting me in the forehead in the process. But then he found my lips with his, wasting no time being delicate, but kissing me rough and with need. This was how it usually began. Niall and I had a very bad habit of hooking up when we were drunk.

I fell his hands slide up my shirt, and I knew if I didn't get him inside my door room he was liable to strip us both down in this hallway. And that wasn't what I needed on my first night back. That would probably result in getting kicked out of the dorms.

We fumbled around, trying to find the door knob. Once we were in, his shirt was completely off and he was throwing my shirt to the floor.

"You are so fucking hot." Niall whispered into my ear as he fumbled for by bra. His hot breath caressed my ear, sending even more lust racing through me. I began frantically trying to get his jeans unbuttoned.

"Gabriella Caprice Barsetti!" I froze at the sound of my full name. Niall pulled away, just as shocked as I was, it appeared. A moment passed and I knew I was going to have to turn around.

"Face me, young lady." I winced and cursed the heavens.

I turned around. A dark figure sat in the middle of the room, in-between my bed and Cyndi's with two figures flanking him on either side. The only light in the room shone from the tiny window, but I didn't need light to know who this was.

"Daddy!"
